Xiaomi's Yi 4K+ uses new 64bit SOC ,4k@60fps recording

Xiaomi's Yi lineup of cameras  recently made a huge splash in the Action camera market with the Yi 4k - A camera that costs cheaper than a entry level Go-Pro with specs that rival the top end Hero Black models .But in recent times GoPro finally realized this new threat from China and addressed accordingly with the launch of the Hero 5 series .But once again ,Xiaomi has upped the ante with the new Yi 4k+  - a carbon fiber based action camera that can shoot 4K @ 60fps  .

Design &Specs

via - Xiaomi/elproducente

The Yi 4k+ follows the same design as the previous model except for some carbon inserts .The new model is still not waterproof out of the box and instead it requires a waterproof case (which can be purchased separately) like the former 4k model .This design idea is similar to GoPro's previous gen Hero 4 line and therefore the Hero 5 might have the advantage as the camera is waterproof out of the box .There is however a advantage to Xiaomi as it allows the camera to have a slightly larger display unit - 2.19" 640x360p  with 330ppi . The camera also has the new USB Type C with USB 3.0 for faster sync .

The new camera is powered by quadcore Ambarella's H2 chipset built on ARM cortex A53 -64bit core architecture .This allows the camera to shoot 4k-60fps and control camera image stability in a much faster and cleaner way compared to older cameras built on the Ambarella A9SE series (Hero 5 and the Xiaomi 4K).Batterylife on the new camera is not stated yet ,but the battery is still removable and it is still at 1400mAh (its the same cell as the older model)  ,with new silicon and 4k60fps we might see a dip in battery life ,but thats to be seen . The camera also supports voice control for audio commands to take pictures and so on - A la GoPro ,and it also has Bluetooth ,wifi and remote support for "selfies" and sync .

Camera sensor and Photos

The Xiaomi Yi 4K+ is huge for the company , the entire Yi lineup found its success thanks to these action cameras - the Yi ,4k  and now this, therefore Xiaomi has once again added specs that would trump the others in raw numbers . The new camera packs a 12.35mp  Sony IMX377 1/2.3" sensor and it comes with software image stability powered by the H2 processor . The camera shoots Stills ,burst , timelapse ,loop recordings and photo+video as well as livestreaming support ,although the sensor has dropped in megapixels compared to the older models , the new IMX377 is a excellent sensor and it is apparently the same model used in the Hero 5 series as well .
