If you are a fan of Zombie apocalypse themed games , then Dead trigger might probably be a house hold name .The first game started its life as a $0.99 app but Madfinger games quickly decided to release it as a freemium game because of the high level of piracy the game experienced after it was officially launched on Android last year . However , being freemium , the game was webbed with lots of in app purchases , the game was also effected with the lack of depth in the form of a proper storyline and the gameplay almost felt repetitive at times , but the game was popular for one reason - its almost eye candy graphics which made it one of the best games for mobile devices last year so obviously , its sequel will be just as great ..so lets take a look
Plot ,Gameplay and controls
The game begins with a short into video showing the start and the aftermath of a viral epidemic that started in 2014 , the zombie virus over the years and months has managed to kill off most of the worlds population except for a few survivors which include you -the gamer . The game's home screen displays a login feature which requires access to the internet where you can either enter new details and create a new account or login with one you already have . the need for a internet connection is really strong in this one , but the reason for this might be due to its upcoming multiplayer feature which will allow you and your buddies to take down the hordes of the undead (feature is said to come in a future update, till then you can take part in the Global Africa campaign to liberate cities overrun by Zombies ) .the first mission involves you taking part in a rescue mission at a local library , although your weapon inventory starts with a wrench and a handgun ,the library rescue mission pays off as the lovely doctor leads you to her hideout where you get a chance to increase the size of the group by rescuing a gunsmith , a scientist , a engineer and a gangster who will work for you by making different equipment and power-ups for a small fee . The first set of missions involve the search and rescue of items and people and providing covering fire from a snipers nest and mounted machine guns . but as the plot thickens , you are taken to a set of missions in Africa and the Middle East where giant mutants and dead HAZMAT teams roam the narrow streets carrying barrels of fuel and deadly radiation along with important blueprints for weapons such as the M1 rifle and chickens laced with dynamite who distract a group of zombies and explode when they gather around As you progress along you will unlock new missions in Asia and Europe as well , and the Multiplayer update will certainly add some more enjoyment and clan based gaming , but thats to be seen .The Graphics are quite en-par with its predecessor but the reflections are much more improved and gives it almost a console like feeling (some of the Graphics on non Tegra 4 devices are slightly toned down ,but its still epic) . The game by default features auto fire which is convenient at times but it can also gobble up your ammunition so be sure to change the settings .Controls by default include a free moving touchscreen pad but you can easily connect bluetooth ,usb and other game controllers externally .As for in-app purchases (its bound to happen on any freemium game) the purchases are not as integrated to the game as before ,but it might be a con to some gamers who want everything free .
The Good -
Lots of Good graphics for a game that's not more than 300 MB
Multiplayer support (in a future update)
Game has a plot , and is no longer limited to door-to-door fighting
Variation of zombie characters
Global map with different cities and arenas
Whats Bad -
Requires internet for log-in , and playing
in app purchases
requires at least iOS7 for best performance
Some bugs such as a malfunctioning shooter button in the Android version
some graphic details are only available for Nvidia Tegra 4 devices
Conclusion
Massive improvement over the previous game , it has some faults , but it is a brilliant game nevertheless , if you are a fan of Zombie themed FPS shooters for mobile devices then this is certainly a app you should try out .
