Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 pro along with Pixel watch unveiled.

 

Google announced their latest Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones along with the Pixel Watch - google's first wearable at a special launch event today. The devices, which are powered by Google's second generation Tensor SOC bring major improvements in photography which has always been Google's highlight.

Google's Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro are Google's latest flagship phones for 2022. The devices, which have been developed around the Tensor G2 - Google's second generation processor developed on a 4nm architecture. The chipset, which consists of 2 Cortex X1 cores, 2 Cortex A78 cores and 4 Cortex A55 cores with a Mali G710 MC10 GPU cores and the chip is paired with 8GB of RAM for the Pixel 7 and 12GB RAM for the Pro variant. Both models come with 128 / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage and the pro model comes with 512GB.

The phones, which come with two different display sizes consist of a 6.3" 2400x1080 AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate while the Pro model comes with a 6.7" 3120x1440 LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Both models come with Gorilla Glass Victus 

The rear of the devices come with a unibody style camera shroud which is matte on the Pixel 7 and polished on the Pro and the glass texture reflects that as well. The Shroud contains a 50MP 1/1.31" sensor with Laser AF and a f1.9 aperture. This sensor is assisted by a 12MP ultra wide sensor with a 126 degree field of view while the Pixel 7 has a 114 degree field of view. The Pixel 7 Pro also has a macro mode and has a 48mp telephoto camera sensor with 1/2.55" sensor size, 5X optical zoom and a 120mm field of view. The front sensor has a 10.8MP module and as face unlock.

The rest of the specs include Bluetooth 5.2, USB C 3.2 , Reverse wireless charging on the 5000 mAh battery on the Pro and 4355mAh on the Pixel 7 and IP68 water resistance. Prices start at $599 for the base Pixel 7 and $899 for the Pro and ship with Android 13.

Pixel Watch


Google also pulled the wraps off its first wearable - the Pixel Watch. The circular watch, which comes in at 1.2" is powered by Google's Wear OS 3.5 and is powered by an Exynos 9110 Soc. The watch has the ability to work as a stand along unit without a paired device in some instances and has a variety of heart rate, blood oxygen and other sensors to predict data for its Fitbit integration. Pricing starts at $349 for the wifi and $399 for the cellular one

Pixel Tablet 


Pixel Tablet - Google also pulled some details about its upcoming Pixel tablet - this device is set to launch in 2023 and is built around a next style speaker/wirelss charging dock where the tablet can be placed when not in handheld use.
