Lenovo has issued a recall of laptop batteries used in the ThinkPad line of products
due to a risk of fire from overheating ,Lenovo has mentioned specific computer models
and they are listed as follows - Edge 11, 13 and 14 series, the T410, T420, T510 and W510 series,
and the X100e, X120e, X200, X201 and X201s.The number of effected batteries are not known
but Lenovo estimates it to be around 34500 in the US and 2900 in Canada and it could be even higher elsewhere because some batteries may be purchased without a laptop , or exported .The Black battery packs measures in at around 8-11-inches long and 1-3 inches wide and about 1-inch high and they contain serial numbers starting with the fourth digitas follows - 42T4695, 42T4711, 42T4798, 42T4804, 42T4812, 42T4822, 42T4828, 42T4834, 42T4840 and 42T4890.
So far two reports of dammage to property due to battery overheating have been reported .
Lenovo meanwhile are taking steps to replace the batteries of those affected by the recall.
