Samsung has been brewing Tizen for a long time , The OS has been used in the Samsung Gear series and is said to be the operating system of choice in the near future .There were rumors of a Tizen powered smartphone from a few years back , but the phones never passed the prototype state until now . Meet the Samsung Z . the lack of "Galaxy" might get people thinking , but it is reserved for Android devices , to which this does not belong to . The phone features Tizen OS 2.2.1 and it has some square design elements from Samsung's old Omnia series of smartphones.The display of the phone features Gorilla Glass 3 and it has a 4.8" screen size and a 720p resolution SAMOLED panel . The phone has a 2.3Ghz Snapdragon 800 chipset and a healthy 2GB of RAM . The phone also features a MicroSD card which compliments the 16GB of internal memory the phone has . Samsung has included its fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor from the Galaxy S line to the device and it also supports NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 ,4G LTE Cat 4 as well . The phone has a 2600 mAh battery which is further boosted by a special Tizen power saving mode . The price of the phone is not yet available , but Samsung will start selling the phone in Russia and later expand to other markets after July .
