Sony has announced its plans for Android 6.0 Marshmallow . The list of devices scheduled to receive the update are as follows .

Xperia C4
Xperia C5 Ultra
Xperia M4 Aqua
Xperia M5
Xperia Z2
Xperia Z2 Tablet
Xperia Z3
Xperia Z3 Compact
Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
Xperia Z3+
Xperia Z4 Tablet
Xperia Z5 Compact
Xperia Z5 Premium
Xperia Z5

Strangely , the Xperia Z1 , the Z1 Compact and the Z Ultra are excluded in this list ,Although this can change later on , the Xperia Z1 series is quite capable in running Android 6.0 as all three devices have Snapdragon 800 Processors and 2GB Ram .

The Xperia Z series however has probably hit its end of life as the Tablet Z , Xperia Z , Xperia ZR and Xperia ZL has Snapdragon S4 processors which are no longer in service , the last updates the Xperia Z series received was Android 5.1.1 and this might probably be its last . Hopefully the Z1 will see better days .

Apple has announced their latest iteration of the iPad (entry level model) and the iPad Pro lineup with the new M2 processor.
