LG G6 - Like a G6

LG has unveiled their flagship smartphone for the year 2017 . The phone , designed to take on the Samsung Galaxy S8 , iPhone 7S , Sony's Xperia XZ premium and a plethora of other similarly spec'ed devices is now officially here to take the torch from the G5 .
Say hello to the LG G6 . The handset , which says goodbye to LG's removable battery option is now officially a member of the unibody design club . The 5.7-inch QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440 resolution) "FullVision Display" is probably one of the strangest mobile displays as it has a aspect ratio of 18:9 . This aspect ratio - which according to LG is said to offer "more viewing space and a more immersive experience when streaming videos and playing games " than traditional 16:9 displays which sacrifice space for on screen buttons usually . The display supports HDR 10 format and Dolby Vision .

Performance on the LG G6 is supplied by a Snapdragon 821 - a Quadcore chip with Adreno 530 GPU . The chip is mated with 4GB of RAM . The Snapdragon 821 although is not Qualcomm's fastest (835) but it is no slouch and will probably wreck benchmarks set now . The G6 also features 4 DAC's for finer audio .


Cameras on the G6 include a twin camera setup on the rear and a single sensor up front . The rear twin cameras are both 13MP but the main sensor (13MP) is a 1 2/3 sensor with Optical image stability ,f 1.8 aperture and a 71 degree fov . The second sensor features a 1/3 sensor and this has an aperture of f2.4 and a 125 degree fov . Both cameras are paired with a dual camera flash and they can record 4K UHD . The front camera is a 5mp sensor with f2.2 aperture and 1080p recording .


Design and battery on smartphone is unique to LG as the handset has basically embraced the flow and is now certified for IP68 dust and water resistance . The phone also is made out of a glass and a metal frame which according to LG , will allow the phone to dissipate any heat by aiding the internal heat pipe in the unibody chassis . The phone features Wireless charging , USB Type C 3.1 , FM radio , single or dual sim standby and a 3300 mAh battery .

The Android 7.0 equipped LG G6 is also said to include $200 worth of games and apps pre installed . The phone is also said to feature Google's highly coveted Assistant system as well . Pricing is to be announced .
