Google has made their Pixel 6 phones official, say hello to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The phones, developed as a replacement for the mediocre Pixel 5, is all about a new improved design and performance thanks to Google's in house chip - Google Tensor and a new camera array at the back. The base Pixel 6 model features a 6.4" LTPO 90hz display with FHD+ resolution and a 8mp punch hole camera while the bigger Pixel 6 Pro features a 6.7" LTPO 120hz display with QHD+ resolution and a 11.1 MP front camera.
The internals of the Pixels consist of Google's custom Tensor SoC, which is Google's first custom designed processor, the chip, designed around a 5nm fabrication process consists of 2 ARM X1 cores, 2 ARM A76 cores and 4 Arm A55 cores and A 20 core Mali G78 GPU as well as multiple security layers and a Titan T2 Security chip for added security. The chip is paired with either 8GB of RAM on the base Pixel 6 or 12GB on the Pro model. Storage wise, both models have 128GB or 256GB options while the pro has an extra 512GB option.
Cameras on the two phones consist of a 50MP wide sensor with pixel binning for low file size outputs and a whole suite of camera features such as an eraser mode to delete distractions in the background, and long exposure photo models for higher quality photos in low light, The sensor is said to be 1/1.31" in size and has a f 1.85 aperture. The other camera is a 12MP ultra wide sensor and this too is found on both models. The autofocus is handled by a LDAF light detection sensor.
Lastly, the Pro model features a 48MP 1/2" telephoto module with a 4X optical zoom (104mm equivalent) this has a f3.5 aperture and sits inside the horizontal camera bar. Both models shoot 4K at 60fps and 1080p at 240fps.
