Sony's Xperia Z4 is probably one of the top smartphones expected for the first half of this year , the phone , which was due to be unveiled in February along side the Snapdragon 810 powered Xperia Tablet Z4 was delayed for a later launch due to unspecified reasons , but today , the phone is made official .
Say hello to the Sony Xperia Z4 , the phone , which is the technical successor to the Xperia Z3 brings a 64bit chip , and a 32GB option instead of the 16GB entry level specification offered earlier , the phone also packs Android 5.0 lollipop out of the box . Design wise , the phone is a bit un-inspiring as it follows the standard Sony omnibalance design with some re used elements from the Xperia Z2 including the almost similar speaker placements .but unlike the previous Z2 and Z3 , the phone is thinner at 6.8mm and it offers IP68 water and dust protection like its predecessors , but the design does have a drawback as the battery capacity has dropped to 2930 mAh , a major drop from the 3100 and 3200 mAh batteries from the previous Z3 and Z2 smartphones launched last year , but Sony might have some magic up it sleeve so the battery life might fall in the same ball park as the previous models even though the battery is considerably smaller .
Under the seek hood , we find Sony's new 64bit hardware- the controversial Snapdragon 810 Soc - a octa core processor which also comes with 3GB of RAM . The storage of the phone is also upgraded to 32GB and you can expand it via MicroSD cards which will take cards upto 128GB . The phone also has the same 20.7 Sony camera module which has a 1/2.3 one-two thirds Sony image sensor with G Lens optics , the camera can capture images upto 12800 ISO and HDR video as well as 4K video , augmented reality as its predecessors . The phone also has a 5MP Exmor R selfie camera .
Running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop , the phone is also one of the first devices to come with the update out of the box , the lollipop experience is said to have been enhanced by Sony - including the addition of more software tweaks for the camera including a special "cooking mode" for all those who love food photography, in a rather odd move , Sony later explained that the model is intended for Japan and not the international market , which is kind of odd , but Sony was always known to launch some phones in Japan before a international launch a few weeks later .
