GoPro Hero 6 and GoPro Fusion 360 unveiled

The action camera market has seen a relative boom during the past few years . Although much of the success can be attributed to Chinese brands like Xiaomi's Yi,  SJcam  (and hundreds of GoPro knockoff brands ) . The main player is still GoPro and therefore their latest announcement is important not only from a company standpoint , but also as a major driving force in the industry .

The Hero 6 improves on the Hero 5 in many areas, but the design and core functionality has not changed .Therefore the Hero6 is a faster Hero 5 with the major changes being The new 4K 60fps , the new quickstories function and the faster wifi plus GoPro's custom image processor .While these features are expected of a high end action camera ,the Hero6's success will mostly depend on how well the 4k/60fps holds up against the new wave of high end smartphones which can do just that . But so far the  preliminary round of  videos shot on the new camera does point out that the Hero6 will indeed be a hit .

The Fusion on the other hand is probably the unsung hero of the whole event . With its 360 video and good stitching from both camera sensors , the device will certainly fill the camerabags of hobbyist and mid level videographers who might need a (VR) broadcast quality video  recorder for under a thousand bucks .
