Samsung Galaxy S9 and S0+


The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are official ,the two phones , designed to refine the almost perfect S8/S8+ ,focuses on providing a better camera ,a faster heart and subtle design changes which are aimed at providing a better user experience (oh ,it still has Bixby - improved and more refined now ) .
The design is still somewhat S8 esque ,the major difference is the fingerprint reader which now sits below the camera unit unlike the pervious version which had the reader placed at the side . Other design elements include IP 68 ingress protection , a headphone jack , and a front mounted 3D touch module for feedback .Both the front and back of the S9 and S9+ are covered with a sheet of Gorilla glass 5 and this the front panel provides protection to a new well placed IRIS scanner and a 5.8” 2690x1440p Super AMOLED panel on the S9 and a 6.2” 2960x1440p Super Amoled panel on the S9+ . Both displays support HDR10 .


The main selling point of the New S9 and S9+ are its new camera modules , the main 12mp PDAF sensor found on both the S9 and the S9+ ,feature a variable aperture diaphragm which can auto adjust from F1.5 to f2.4 depending on the lighting situation . The phones feature a 1\2.55” sensor size and they feature a 1.4 micrometer pixel size each , the main modules of the S9 and S9+ feature OIS stabilization ,while the secondary 12MP 1\3.6” sensor module on the S9+ has no mechanical stabilization and it has a fixed f2.4 aperture . Both phones feature 8mp 1\3.6” sensors up front , and these units have an f1.7 fixed aperture .

Video specs on the two phones include 4k @60fps , the models also feature the ability to shoot 1080p@240fps while the custom DRAM module on the sensor (a-la Sony) allows the camera to shoot 720p@960 fps for a short burst .

On the processor side , we have the usual dual option of either Snapdragon or Exynos once again .The Asian variants , which will carry the Exynos 8910 Soc will have a clock speed of 2.7 Ghz and this will come with Mali G72 -18 core graphics . The Special LTE variants for the U.S and some Chinese service providers will come with the Snapdragon 845 Soc clocked to 2.7 Ghz and will come with Adreno 630 graphics . Memory options for the S9 and S9+ goes as follows - The S9 will come with 4GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of storage with MicroSD expansion while the S9+ will come with 6GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of storage with MicroSD expansion as well .


Other features include QI wireless charging support and USB C fast charging ,AR emojis ,Android OREO (8) out of the box  and FM radio which is also said to make a comeback in some regions and users who want a desktop experience will be happy to note that the two phones support DEX as well . The battery on the S9 is a 3000 mAh unit while the S9+ comes with a beefier 3500 mAh one . The Galaxy S9 will ship on March 16th
