Blackberry Passport

In the world of rectangular wide screen smartphones , a square phone might seem out of place and a bit odd considering that strange form factors died out years ago , but apparently Blackberry , a company who still holds on to traditional values like the QWERTY keyboard decided to bring  back a square smartphone that looks strange and ultra powerful at the same time . Say hello to the new Blackberry Passport , this is Blackberry's latest "flagship" smartphone as it is the most powerful blackberry in production to date , the phone , which has a rather odd 4.5" display has a resolution of 1440x1440 and it has a keyboard that is touch sensitive so you can use it along side the touch screen on the phone in a fashion similar to that of a trackpad . The rest of the phone is quite impressive as well and with 3GB of RAM , a Snapdragon 801 chip , the new Blackberry Passport is also "top of the range" .The phone supports "Android apps" that can emulate its...

Gameloft to announce Asphalt Overdrive tomorrow

Gameloft has two main cash cow titles in its app belt , on one side , you have the modern combat series , and on the other , you have the popular Asphalt series , the Asphalt series is basically a full on arcade style racing game that is almost 9 generations long . The last version , Asphalt 8 was released last year and its was the first Asphalt game to hit the Windows Phone platform . Currently , Asphalt 8 is almost a year old now ,and is in need for a replacement , but the upcoming Asphalt Overdrive , which is said to be a spin off from the heavy Asphalt racing series is not "Asphalt 9" so don't count on it to be spectacular . The game is basically temple run - on wheels , the game works in portrait format , unlike the widescreen ,accelerometer based games in the "real" asphalt series and it requires swipe gestures to turn left and right , the game also has a bit of a GTA Vice City vibe to it and you can buy in-app  purchases if you get really addicted to it...

MasHD Autonews - Ferrari 458's recalled due to missing trunk release handle

Modern cars have a interior boot release handle so that if you get trapped or kidnapped in one , you can release it and bail out easily , new automobile design laws require it to be standard on all cars but apparently Ferrari has lost the note when they went about designing the 458 italia . The Ferrari 458 , along with the 458 spyder convertible are now said to hit a recall that doesn't involve fire , according to U.S regulations , cars are required to have such a release on all vehicles ,irrespective of its boot size .The Ferrari 458 , which has a hatch that can accommodate nothing more than a medium size suitcase or a small child , and if you are carrying out your mafia kidnap missions using a Ferrari 458 , your days might be numbered . iPhone 6+ .....Will it Bend ?

As phones get bigger and bigger , carrying them around will be quite a task as they will stay like a big block protruding from your pants as if its about to rip right out of it .to combat this problem , companies like LG introduced bendable devices that retain their shape after compression from a pair of denims or sitting on it , new phones which have metal unibodies are probably the hardest devices to live with as they come with a metal unibody that's technically solid ,and flat  but yesterday , some users discovered a hidden feature that might be the iPhone 6+ main Achilles heel to date , yes , the phone is bendable , but that's in a bad way . The iPhone 6+ , which is made using the same building process as the iPhone 6 ,it  is also the largest smartphone made by Apple to date , the phone's slate design is not comfortable when you place in your pocket as the metal structure  takes all the stress of compression from your leg and pants  this , combined with Al...

The current Mini cooper is doing well in terms of sales , but with fierce competition from other hot hatchbacks the company is now hoping to revive work on one of their shelved projects known as the Mini Rocketman . The Rocketman sounds like something from the lego movie , but the compact hot hatchback was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show with some fancy features such as bugeye tail lamps and double hinged doors for easy access , the car which mini had to develop as a separate platform proved to be expensive and so they shelved the plans until now .The Mini Rocketman , which is said to be driver friendly thanks to its low weight due to it  aluminium and carbon composite structures and back -to -basic features that will be welcoming to anyone . Nokia UK says hello to its Microsoft overlords , website redirected towards Redmond

Thing's weren't going well for Nokia since the N-Series hit the Axe . The company , which was one of the first companies to use Windows Phone was struggling to keep its head above water until it was fully transferred to Microsoft early this year .  Even with its full commitment to Windows Phone , the company was still a bit of a identity crisis to its owner  Microsoft who wanted all their products  to have their name on it . As seen a few weeks ago , Microsoft is slowly working its way to axe the Nokia brand itself , and so far , leaked front panels and documents might hold testament as the once proud brand fades into the pages of history . The Nokia company , which maintains its own websites are now showing the first symptoms of Microsoftation as the Nokia UK website has been fully absorbed into Microsoft .com . As of now , the UK website is the only victim , but others will follow suit as the brand morphs into "Microsoft Lumia " which means that devices not runnin...

MasHD Autonews - This Nissan Leaf goes ute

Electric vehicles  are slowly creeping into the world of gasoline powered cars , although you get high performance sedans, sports cars and city runabouts with batteries , almost no one thought about making a pickup truck with this "green" technology .Say hello to the new Nissan Leaf pickup dubbed "sparky" . The former EV, which was quite a decent hatchback (before it was modded) has been reworked  by some blokes at the Nissan Technical Center at Stanfield Arizona . The leaf pickup is a bit of a cut and chop job mainly because some of the rear tailgate parts are salvaged from other Nissan's  in the parts bin.although the model is not for sale , the cut and chop job does pays off very well as the car is still functional even after making it look quite hideous. OnePlus One to drop its invite system and settles for a pre-order system

OnePlus One is a great phone with one major flaw - availability . The phone , which brought in truckloads of loyal fans and hype caused quite a storm in the tech world when it came to getting/sending out  invites .The invite system , which was hated by almost all was one ,was of the main reasons why the phone lost its appeal so soon ,frustrated buyers left the forums and most of the time bought phones from rival companies (even Oppo) , some gave up on OnePlus all-together, but now , with 2014 almost coming to a end , OnePlus has finally decided to open the taps and let people order phones in the regular fashion . The new OnePlus Preorder system , unlike the unsuccessful invite method , uses a set timeframe which allows buyers to place their orders in a given time , the move , which allows customers to select their accessories and other material before - hand  , will receive  a small time -window to place their order on the OnePlus One , and if you are a early -bird ,...

Sony's affordable 4G phone starts from India

There was much praise for Sony's new "affordable" 4G smartphone at IFA last month . The phone promised good specs , 4G and the latest version of Android for a good price , As it turns out , the phone is only available in India at the moment and the company will expand to other markets in the coming weeks .The phone will cost 11,790 INR (€149) and 12,790 (€162) for its dual-sim variant . The phone's are expected to sell well and might help to ease the pressure caused by the quarterly losses to Sony's smartphone business . Even with competition like the Moto G , the large market expansion of Sony smartphones mean that this will eventually sell better than its main rival . Panasonic's new Lumix DMC-CM1 has looks of a camera , specs of a smartphone

Camera ? Phone?  ..why not both ....well , take a look at this new Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1. At first glance , it looks a lot like a touch -screen compact camera that your sister uses ,but the camera/phone has specs that can easily challenge all other flagships thanks to its Snapdragon 801 processor and its 20 megapixel f/2.8 Leica DC Elmarit lens .The camera's rear panel looks a bit like a traditional Leica camera , but the Android 4.4 os makes the camera phone a direct rival to other Android cameras out there .Pricing for this Panasonic is not verified , but we are sure that its not going to be cheap . This 4K recording app will cost a thousand bucks

Most apps usually cost cents or a few dollars to purchase , but the new WizzyWiz 4K app takes app pricing to a whole new level because it costs a mindblowing $999 . The app , as its name explains - is a 4K video recording app for the iPhone 5S . The app allows its (no idea on what to call them) users the ability to shoot 4K at 24 fps or take 24 burst photos at 4K resolution and stitch them for a high resolution photo that will come to about 72MB . The app however has certain restrictions as it requires the phone to be of the 32GB  or 64GB variant and run iOS7 instead of the upcoming iOS8 update due to issues with the camera interface . The app at first glance has a tonne of cool features , but for that kind of money , eager photo buffs can buy a semi-Pro DSLR  , or a 4K capable smartphone without buying something that is virtually intangible . if you really want to buy - iTunes Written by Rakitha for MasHD Source - SlashGear

Apple lets go of iPod Classic

Whether you like it or not , back in golden days , Apple made some incredible stuff ,the iPod classic - a humble mediaplayer  was basically one of the hidden pillars of Apple's modern success . The iPod classic was basically a continuation of the original iPod which was launched in 2001 , the media player brought a ton of cash , reputation and a long lasting customer bond that still goes on to this day .But now , in this modern age of flash memory and apps , the hard disk based grandpa-pod looks a bit too un-cool , the heavy and volatile nature of the iPod classic is also a downside considering that many people do drop their stuff often . The iPod Classic was also one of the last devices sold by Apple to come with the old 30 pin charger , so many of us knew this was coming ,but whatever it is , the iPod Classic was ,and still , one of the greatest products Apple ever  had , the 160 GB storage capacity is still unmatched by its flash -storaged based siblings and the touchwhee...

Motorola Moto X (2nd gen) goes live

The  first Moto X was a highly desirable phone which no one could buy outside of the U.S (for some time) the phone had unique features such as voice commands which later watered down to our well known "Ok Google" command . The phone , at launch was a bit expensive for what it had inside and some of the specs such as the camera were a bit so-so . The new phone , which costs $499 unlocked and $99 on contract in the U.S ,comes with new back panels that include leather , wood and fabric ones which cost about $25 per pop . The new phone also includes some major aesthetic changes and it has  two front facing speakers in front . The phone , like to old model , features touchless controls with command phrases like "ok google now" , which can launch your task without lifting a finger . New Motorola Moto G brings a 8mp camera , 5" display and a MicroSD card slot for $179

The old Moto G set the bar for mid range android devices . The phone , which started out at $179 was a popular choice among the tech crowd who wanted a minimalistic design , good battery life and a unbeatable price for a phone , if launched by another company , could have cost them about $300 . The Old Moto G  , due to Google's tight restrictions about expandable storage , lacked a MicroSD card slot , but that error was fixed later on  . The old Moto G,which is almost a year old now required a refresh , so today Motorola launched its new "Moto G" at a super secret meeting at its headquarters in Chicago . The new Moto G borrows some new features from the old model which include the Snapdragon 400 processor , and the same display resolution -although the screen size is much bigger now . the phone has been given a upgrade in the storage department and it now has the much needed SD card slot in the basic 8GB version too . The phone however lacks LTE , so the recently launche...
