Yesterday at the ASUS IDF press conference CEO Jerry Shen announced the company’s first tablet to run on Intel’s Bay Trail platform. It is called the ASUS Transformer Book T100 and is an entry-level 10.1″ tablet running the Windows 8.1 operating system. The 10.1″ display is of the IPS variety and has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, which is rather mediocre for a display of such size . Nevertheless, the 1.33GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3740 and 2GB dual-channel memory. Measuring 26.4 x 17.0 x 1.04 cm, the ASUS Transformer Book T100 weighs only 550 grams. Adding the dock increases the thickness to 2.36 cm and adds another 550 grams to the weight. There are also a microUSB port for charging as well as a microHDMI output and a headphone/mic jack. You’ve got to hand it to Asus: their precocity brought quality to an Android tablet market previously relegated to cheap, underpowered, plastic nastiness. Though the company is perhaps best known for the Nexus 7, the Google-branded budget tablet, its first blockbuster brand catered almost exclusively to spec enthusiasts, packing then high-end internals into a 10-inch form factor. Despite quality control issues, they proved a favorite of Googlers and bleeding edge tech adopters alike. If you thought ASUS was done announcing new products here at Computex, get ready for at least one more surprise. The company just unveiled the Transformer Book Trio, a so-called three-in-one device that combines bits of the laptop, desktop and tablet experience. At first glance, it sounds similar in concept to the Aspire R7 desktop-laptop-tablet that recently came out, but in fact, ASUS has taken a different tack altogether. This guy runs both Windows and Android. If you're wondering how that works, dual operating systems basically amounts to dual processors, with a fourth-generation Core i7 processor powering the Windows 8 experience, and an Intel Atom Z2580  chip handling Android Jelly Bean.Battery wise you get a 33Wh cell as well as a 19Wh one. As Computex approaches, so too do the teasers for devices like this action-figure representation of a device ASUS will be showing off. Here the proof is in the pudding as the letters N6-TE tie in with ASUS common past and the Android toy itself. It begins with the letter N and the toy has the most easily recognizable representation of a pen – this means the device will have a “note” functionality and more than likely a capacitive pen built-in. As the ASUS FonePad we saw earlier this year  worked with a Nexus 7 form factor and the ability to make telephone calls appeared, so did ASUS’ willingness to make said calls on multiple devices. This new N6 machine shows its ability to work as a telephone with the Android toy’s right arm – again, in as obvious a manner as possible showing that it works as a phone. Computex is slowly creeping up on us, as it starts toward the beginning of next month, and ASUS appears to be going all out with new products at the event, constantly teasing new hardware that the company has up its sleeves. This time around, we’re not sure exactly what they’re teasing, but they note how the new product will “move you.” The image teaser that ASUS posted on their Google+ page is a close up of what is probably the new device that they’ll be releasing at Computex this year. From the looks of it, it appears to be made of brushed aluminum like many of their current devices, and sports a circular shape of some kind. You may have heard a new PadFone was on the way -- it's not like ASUS has been dropping obvious hints or anything. In any case, surprise! ASUS just unveiled a new model, the PadFone Infinity. Like other PadFones, this is a handset that slips into a tablet-like dock, allowing you to make use of a bigger screen. This time, though, it ships with Android 4.2, and the display has grown from 4.7 inches to 5. The resolution is now 1080p (up from 720p), which comes out to 441 pixels per inch. Additionally, the tablet's 10.1-inch screen has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200, up from 1,280 x 800 in the last-gen model. It's plenty bright, too, at 400 nits, but that's a slight step down from the last-gen model, which lit up to 500 nits.
