Samsung has officially announced their latest flagship smartphone , the Note 8 , the device , launched after the disastrous Note 7 hopes to please new users as well as those who are loyal to the Note lineup , even though that relationship may have been dodgy due to the battery related recall . The phone brings familiar cues from the S8 , a new square design and dual camera set up , all in a expensive and luxurious chassis . Design Samsung's design for the Note 8 is heavily influenced by the S8 launched earlier this year, the new Note , like its two previous predecessors , features a metal chassis and curved gorilla glass on both the front and back . The phone still features the traditional fingerprint sensor at the back - a la S8 , and it now features a dual camera set up in linear fashion .
