HTC announces One A9 , brings familiar design cues with Marshmallow

If you can't beat them , join them ..that was probably what HTC kept as their mantra when they designed the HTC A9 , which although we cannot say directly , looks much like ..cough..cough ..a iPhone 6 .The A9 is HTCs latest flag carrier for the remaining half of the year , the phone , designed on some design cues inherited from the One S and the iPhone 6 skips on some HTC staples such as boomsound speakers and SLCd displays and instead it features a unibody chassis and a AMOLED display . The phone , like previous models , is designed to look expensive and the A9 is no exception . Made of aluminum and steel the iPhone esque design does look like a knock off iPhone ,but the HTC logo offsets that by adding a bit more bezel , a long fingerprint sensor and HTC on the front panel . The AmOled display ,which comes in a resolution of 1080p is 5” inches and i has 441ppi and Gorilla glass 4 protection .Processing power on the device comes from a Snapdragon 617 Soc clocked to 1.5 Ghz and i...

MWC 2015 - HTC One M9 unveiled

HTC has officially unveiled the HTC One M9 , the flagship smartphone is HTC's champion for 2015 and it is said to take on other similar spec'ed flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S6 , LG G4 and the Xperia Z4 in the smartphone arena . The phone comes with a somewhat familiar unibody design (as shown in the countless leaks and videos posted right until today) , but unlike the previous generations , the design now has a two tone finish which offsets the metal wrap-around design .The back also has a giant cur out for the 20MP sensor - which is a huge step up over the 4MP ones used in different configurations over the past two years .  The front of the device is also a bit familiar , but its camera port is slightly larger as it now accommodates HTC's previously signature 4MP ultrapixel camera , the boomsound speakers are still present on the new device and so is HTC's staple  5" 1080p display panel . HTC One M9 gets compared to previous generations in this "leaked" video

HTC's upcoming One M9 has leaked multiple times over the past few weeks , the phone , which is expected be unveiled later today has now leaked out in a video where it is compared to two of its older siblings - the One M7 and the One M8 . First off , the new M9 will definitely do away with the 4MP ultrapixel camera , this brings about the biggest change to the series as both previous versions used the 4MP sensor in different arrangements . . The second difference , as shown in this video is the design  , although all HTC one devices come with a aluminium finish , the M9 is said to have a Gold color trim around the sides in order to give it a two tone effect , the phone also follows a similar front design to the older M8 , but its front camera port is much larger as the 4MP ultrapixel camera is now added to the front of the device as the rear has a 20MP sensor with HTC 's two tone flash .HTC's One M9 is expected to launch today in roughly 20 hours (10 AM Eastern Time) Spe...

HTC upcoming One M9 might come with a 1080p display , Butterfly 3 might have a QHD one instead

With the launch of the HTC One M9 just around the corner , the phone - which we originally thought of as a QHD (2K) smartphone is now rumored to have that display resolution changed to a lower 1080p in order to give it a better battery life and more power . Although the phone will have a Snapdragon 810 , 3GB of Ram , a 20 mp rear sensor , the power and battery juice needed to push extra pixels will be saved if the said phone has a lower resolution . Wallpaper from the alleged HTC One M9 are allegedly  scaled for 1080p  The HTC One M9 is said to be unveiled on the 1st of March (next month) , If 1080p display's are not your thing , you can always wait for the QHD HTC Butterfly 3 which is also rumored for a mid year launch according to @upleaks  HTC BUTTERFLY3(aka B3) with 5.2” WQHD Display. — @upleaks (@upleaks) February 18, 2015 Written By Rakitha for MasHD Source - Androidauthority

HTC One M9 Plus benchmarks leak out

HTC's upcoming One M9 - also known as "hima" in this part of the internet is probably the next big thing for the company , the phone , which is said to pack a Snapdragon 810 chip , 3GB of RAM and a 20.7mp rear camera is said to be the device that will supposedly take on the other top champs from the rest of the Android gang ,but like all companies ,HTC is said to work on a regional -carrier model which according to the new leak is China bound . Say hello to the HTC One M9 Plus this phone , originally leaked in China packs a Mediatek processor instead of the Qualcomm chip , the chip however is in question as the preliminary Antutu leaks show the phone lagging behind the Xperia Z2 from 2014 and even the Snapdragon 800 powered Mi3 . This poor rating is possibly caused by either the processor being underclocked or the processor  failing to handle the 2K display ,this however is yet to be seen as . The rest of the specs include a possible duo camera set up (like the M8) a...

The HTC One M9 - also codenamed HTC Hima is HTC's top secret next gen flagship for 2015 . The product ,which is said to be HTC's main Xperia Z4 , Samsung Galaxy S6 and G4 rival  is said to contain most of HTC's previous design DNA and a new camera module that will ultimately seal the fate of the 4mp ultra pixel units used in the two previous generations . Leaks about the device came thick and fast , about a day back , we saw preliminary leaks that appear to show a single large camera at the back , this is said to be a HTC modified 20.7 MP camera (Possibly from Sony) along with two LED's for color balance . The module also shoots 4K video - a feature absent in previous models . The phone is also packing similar design cues from the previous gen model , but a new 5" QHD screen and 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 810 processor  are said to take center stage this time . Original HTC One gets Android 4.4.3 update

Smartphones are progressing ahead , and in that process most companies usually avoid the responsibility of updating their devices , but HTC , which like a small minority of Android OEM's pledged a oath to keep their top handsets updated for a minimum of 2 years ,the process started with the Original HTC One , which many of us have forgotten by now . The Phone , which came with Jellybean at launch is now issued a update to Android 4.4.3 Kitkat today .The update , which is said to feature security features from Android v4.4.4  will currently seed European versions of the Handset (most handsets sold in Asia Might be European versions so look out for the update) with the software serial number - 6.09.401.5 which is about 550MB+ , you can check for any update by going into settings and be sure to have enough charge before downloading and installing . HTC rumored to produce a plastic version of the M8

The HTC One M8 is a serious looker , the unibody design and the metal build gives the user a sense of luxury and sophistication , but with the recent economic downturn , the company is rumored to shift to a more economic solution by making a plastic version of the HTC One M8 .According to the report, the HTC One M8 is currently sold for 5299 ($853) in China ,the plastic version however is said to cost around half the price at ($483). The phone 's internals are said to be the same , except for the build quality ,the plastic/polycarbonate will surely require less engineering and production costs and it will follow and feels similar to the previous HTC One X and the Desire 601 .Overall , a switch to plastic will surely help the Taiwanese company regain some lost profits and make the M8 a attractive option over other flagships because of its hopefully affordable undercut price Source - SlashGear

Demand for HTC One M8's overwhelm its supply lines ,

The HTC One M8 is one of the most anticipated devices of this year , the device was put on sale right after launch unlike its competitors and this has now caused a few issues in supply of the device because , according to the latest reports from Taiwan ,the demand for the M8 has overwhelmed the supply of the device . The Taiwanese(Asia specific)HTC M8 has a 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor rather than the 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor used in the European and American versions of the same phone. The device costs NTD 21900 which is about $720. Although the news source didn't mention the number of units sold and demanded by customers , the news shouldn't be surprising because Taiwan after all , is HTC's home turf . GSMArena

At a glance , the HTC One M8 looks a bit like a curved version of its predecessor , the HTC One , and this is true because most of the design elements have not changed , but instead they are better polished .Measuring in at 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35 mm and 160g, The new One M8's rear chassis is now 90% metal , compared to the 70% of the old "One" . The metal in the new chassis now has a brushed steel look (Only the Gunmetal Grey version has this) and it certainly adds more primness to device . The One M8 comes in 3 color variants including the stock Gunmetal Gray , Glacial silver , and ...

Sadly due to lack of support from the chip provider Nvidia , updates for the 2012 flagship phones - the HTC One X and the X+ has been canceled ,and this will surely leave a few remaining One X owners(including myself) feeling a little down ,but fear not because you can always install a 3rd party rom after a good rooting process . The HTC One was named the Best Smartphone in the past year. The other nominees, which were considered, were the Apple iPhone 5S, the LG G2, the Lumia 1020 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
