Nikon Z9 officially Launched (along with Lens announcements)

Nikon Z9 Nikon has officially launched their flagship Mirrorless camera - the Z9. The camera, which in some ways takes over the position of the D6 as the era of DSLR's slowly wind down boasts a 45.7MP sensor with no mechanical shutter, 8K recording and 120fps shooting. The Z9 features a Full frame 45.7MP Stacked CMOS sensor with 493 AF points and has Hybrid Phase detection AF. The sensor has a sensitivity of ISO 64 to 25600 (32-102400 expandable) and considering that has an electronic shutter, it can reach 1/32000 shutter speed (max) and if you want to use a flash it can hit a maximum of 1/800 through HSS (high speed sync) . The sensor features IBIS and with VR enabled lenses, it can hit 6 stops of vibration compensation and it has a Vibration Lock to protect the sensor and the mechanism if it detects high levels of vibration or unintentional drops. Due to the lack of a mechanical shutter, the sensor can hit a maximum of 20fps RAW (1000 image buffer is available), 30fps JPEG and if...

Sony A7IV is official

Sony has officially launched their latest iteration of the Alpha A7 - the A7 IV (Mk4), the new camera, announced as a successor to the A7III from a few years back brings many improvements such as improved autofocus,4K in 60fps, a fully articulating screen and a new sensor that comes close to the first gen A7R in terms of megapixels. The design of the new A7/4 brings no noticeable design changes and thus it looks similar to previous sony bodies with the exception of the larger chassis found on the A7S III and the R4 series, the major differences between the models now lie in the form of a fully articulating screen which can now be moved 180 degrees unlike predecessors who were restricted to just tilt-up-down functions, the new display also has a 1,03 million dot 3" touchscreen with Sony's new menu system which grants touch access across the whole menu. Canon EOS R3 is official

Unless you have been living under a rock, its no secret that mirrorless cameras have basically ended the era of DSLR's, but if you were a working professional who shot sports-action-wildlife chances are that, though compelling, Mirrorless cameras looked and felt fragile when compared to workhorse cameras such as the 1DX or Nikon's D5 and didn't have the same endurance or ergonomics of the top tier DSLR's. Canon being a brand which has taken a different approach to Mirrorless (unlike Sony and their angular/flat design language) has now basically made a compelling offering to those who would otherwise have not considered switching to mirrorless with the announcement of the new EOS R3 - a model that sits above the current EOS R5 and is almost en par with the status held by the EOS 1DX Mk3 but Canon does say the R3 is a tier below the 1DX and therefore we can expect a proper flagship someday in the future (EOS R1?). The camera, unlike the top tier 1DX Mk3 is lighter than th...

Sony announces E-Mount equipped ZV-E10 mirrorless camera

Sony has announced their latest E-Mount equipped  - vlogger centric ZV-E10 Interchangeable mirrorless camera. The new model, which is sort of a successor to the A5000 series in some sorts and a cut down A6xxx series camera offers a flip out LCD screen, a front record light, a lens zoom button (for compatible lenses - PZ) and a hotshoe mount with compatibility with Sony flashes and microphones for audio. This being a video oriented camera, does mean that the EVF is no longer available and you would therefore have to make do with the 3" rear screen which is fully articulating. The camera which packs a 24MP APSC sensor with 11 fps lacks IBIS, but is equivalent to a A6100 in e performance but has 4K30/24 fps and has sLOGand HLG profiles as well - the 4K 24 mode does not have any cropping, but the 4K 30 does have a slight crop of 1.23x and the camera can do slow-motion at 120fps (1080p). The camera does come with Sony's FW50 series of battery (440 shots or 80 minutes of video ) a...

Nikon lists a few F mount lenses as "old product" - Is this the end for the F mount?

Nikon - Once a dominating power in the Camera duopoly and a pioneer in optics has been faithful to its F mount since its inception in 1958 and all cameras from the SLR film era and right upto the modern flagship D6 used this with optics and the electronics within them being the only factor of change. But in the age of Mirrorless, the F mount seemed to be "too small" and thus it was replaced by the Z mount with cameras sporting the new mount receiving mixed response from the shrinking Nikon fanbase.  But as with all modern changes, change is never fast and many prefer to remain in the DSLR realm as long as possible unless Nikon "kills off" production - which was certainly expected but now  with the current "crisis" affecting the industry hard, Nikon is accelerating the process by listing the following lenses as "Old product"  - Which would indicate that the following lenses are no longer in production and are available till stocks last.   AF-S Nik...
