With the highly anticipated HTC One (M8) is only a few hours away from its official launch ,the older flagships of the last year look on as they slowly disappear from the front pages . But as HTC promised , the phones that came out in 2013 will be supported for 2 years worth of updates , and according to a latest leak , the HTC One M7, One max , One Mini and the Butterfly S will recieve the Android 4.4.2 +Sense 6 update during June and July of this year . Sadly due to lack of support from the chip provider Nvidia , updates for the 2012 flagship phones - the HTC One X and the X+ has been canceled ,and this will surely leave a few remaining One X owners(including myself) feeling a little down ,but fear not because you can always install a 3rd party rom after a good rooting process . With the device primed for a sale just after launch , some people were lucky enough to get actual devices and unbox them .And today , we have one from PDA Plaza Russia where the the Verizon exclusive version of the HTC One M8 has been unboxed . The phoneis said to be exclusive for Verizon for two weeks before it goes official in other U.S carriers , and there is already a exclusive registration page on Verizons website ( click here to visit page ).The HTC One M8 is due to launch simultaneously in New York and London  today . With less than a day for its official debut , the HTC One M8 (HTC's flagship phone for 2014) has reportedly smoked all of its competition on the Basemark OS2 and the graphic intensive Basemark X benchmarks today .The phone however has managed to pick out a comfortable 7th position in Browsermark web browsing testing but overall the Snapdragon 801 powered smartphone is surely a killer device for this year . The HTC M8 - AKA HTC ONE 2014 is set to launch on the 25th of This month in two simultaneous events in London and New York . The HTC One 2014 was leaked a dozen times by professional and N00b leakers alike and this has however has brought some positive and curious attention to the device which is set to launch with dual cameras . In order to feed the hungry first timers and the tech crowd ,HTC will start selling the new HTC One just minutes after its official launch event in selected city showrooms . currently 6 stores in London are mentioned - (Westfield Stratford, Westfield White City, Oxford Circus, Centrepoint, Tottenham Court Road and Carphone Warehouse at Selfridges)and they are the first to be in line for shipments of the new handset , so hopefully stores in NYC will be mentioned soon .but still if you don't like walking down the street , you might be able to order it online , which might also go active once the official HTC event starts at 4PM GMT . Another alleged image of HTC M8 made the rounds on Twitter, courtesy of @evleaks. This time around HTC’s upcoming Android flagship appeared wearing a rugged protective case. The image you see above is not the first on of HTC M8 in a protective case. Recently, the smartphone appeared in a spy photo tucked into a flip cover. Protective case aside, the press image reveals the front of the HTC One’s successor. In line with previous leaks, the photo showcases the smartphone in a black color scheme.
