OnePlus - a company that made headlines last year with its OnePlus One handset is now announcing plans to dish out Android 5.0 to their handsets . The update , which looks to be a bit late by flagship update standards is the result of "proprietary drivers, code, QA [and] certifications." . Originally ,OnePlus promised a 90 day update promise but things started to go south after Cyanogen - Oneplus'  main software provider , ditched Oneplus and sold off exclusive rights to Micromax in India ,and  as a result Indian OnePlus users will not receive direct updates as all update rights belong to the said Indian OEM . After Cyanogenmod's OnePlus betrayal , the small startup company decided to go on its own path of releasing a custom ROM for the OnePlus One ,after many months of work , the company is finally announcing details about their upcoming Oxygen Os  . According to OnePlus , the Oxygen OS Rom is said to be unique to the OnePlus One , created by the newly announced OnePlus OxygenOSTeam  , the ROM is said to be based on Android 5.0.2 initially ,but a 5.1 based version is possibly down the pipe as well . The OS is said to be a download and flash ROM instead of a OTA update , the os will have a "closeness to stock(Android" and it is said to include Google's stock camera as the filter camera in the Cyanogenmod Rom is basically kicked out . Oneplus has not announced any launch dates for this new ROM  , but we can expect it to pop up anytime soon as the current OnePlus one is stated to get updated for another whole year ( until the middle of 2016 ),so if things go as planned , ...

After much betrayal , OnePlus has finally decided to skip out on cyanogenmod alltogether with the introduction of its own AOSP based ROM called - Oxygen OS . Cyanogenmod - a popular 3rd party Android ROM was basically the cement of the small startup company and it was even declared as one of the phone's main features,but like most small companies that taste big money ,Cyanogen decided to spray sand on the eyes of OnePlus and eventually made deals with Micromax giving them official rights to use the operating system on their devices leaving OnePlus with their pants down  .
