Western Digital MyBook Live drives go rogue - may delete your data

If you own a Western Digital MyBook Live external disk drive, and have it connected to the internet, then  go disconnect it immediately from the internet (unplug the ethernet cable) as new reports from users indicate that devices connected to the internet are starting to go on a disk-wiping session - deleting all user data. The report - originally posted by ARS Technica, indicated that users with the WD Live series of drives connected to the internet for cloud file access have had their devices returned to factory settings with the storage drives and accounts wiped clean. The source of the bug is not revealed as of yet and it could be a malicious incident as well. This is awful news for users of these storage devices as they are mostly used by small businesses and non commercial owners who may have all their files backed up to a single drive with sometimes no cold-storage copies.
