Nokia Lumia 2520 - Nokia's first 10.1" tablet with Windows RT (UPDATED)

Nokia has revealed its much-anticipated Windows RT tablet, the Nokia Lumia 2520, a 10.1-inch slate pairing the distinctive and colorful design of the company’s Windows Phone range with LTE as standard and a suite of homegrown apps. Revealed today at Nokia’s Dubai event, the Lumia 2520 has a special Full HD display that runs at up to 650 Nits brightness for outdoor usability, and will come in at a competitive $499 pre-subsidies. Meanwhile, there’s a full bundle of apps and even a Power Keyboard accessory with QWERTY, an integrated battery, and USB ports. Inside the polycarbonate plastic casing there’s Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor with LTE and WiFi. Nokia has opted not to make a WiFi-only version, arguing that the market for a connected tablet is more the niche it is aiming for. The 615g slate has tapered edges to make it feel more slimline in the hands, but still manages to accommodate an 8,000 mAh battery which Nokia claims should deliver 8-10 hours of runtime with LTE...

Nokia's Lumia Tablet (aka - 2520 , Sirius, RX114) goes through the FCC

Nokia‘s much-rumored tablet has appeared at the FCC undergoing LTE testing, with the Finnish company almost completely squeezing out references to the form factor of what’s expected to be a Windows RT based machine. Listed as the Nokia RX-114, the device makes no mention of its design until the final page, when it’s outed as a tablet. It’s expected to be among a rumored six new devices to be shown off for the first time on October 22nd Details on the slate, at least from this FCC filing, are unclear. However, the agency has put its wireless radios through the usual test processes, confirming which types of cellular connectivity – and which bands are supported – are present. It’s a reasonably full house, too, with LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 13, and 17 all included, making for 4G compatibility with both Verizon and AT&T’s networks, not to mention T-Mobile USA. Nokia's Windows RT tablet to be called Lumia 2520

According to a recent leak, trying to predict an upcoming Nokia product, the tablet which we’ve known so far under the codename Sirius, will apparently be called the Nokia Lumia 2520. Depending on which reports you tend to believe, the Lumia 2520 will land on October 22, together with the Lumia 1520 phablet, or at another date. Nokia has already published some teasers for that day. As far as the specs for the Sirius, now Lumia 2520, are concerned, the slate is expected to run Windows RT and pack a 10.1-inch 1080p screen with a quad-core processor.( PocketNow )
