Nvidia next gen Pascal GPU architecture to be available in 2016

After announcing details about the Tegra Erista mobile processor and a $3000 graphics card , Nvidia published new details about their upcoming GPU architecture called "Pascal" .The GPU design was previously known as "Volta" and it has been slowly replaced by "Pascal" instead (fate of Volta is unknown as of now) A slide showing the earlier codename "volta" - circa 2013 (via Anandtech) A slide from GTC 2014 showing the "Pascal" architecture after Maxwell (via Anandtech) The Pascal GPU is said be the next step in avoiding data bottlenecks when data transferred between the CPU and GPU slows down the processors ability to perform tasks . The new Nvidia NVLink is a integrated chip to chip communications technology that will eventually replace the PCIe standard by about 80GB per second compared to the 16GB on PCIe. The new Pascal system will also have stacked DRAM chips which are placed in dense modules with wide interfaces...

Nvidia's new Titan Z graphic card doubles its specs over the Titan Black , 5760 Cuda cores on tow

Nvidia anounced their latest and the most expensive graphics card ever - The GTX Titan Z , the Titan Z is the third graphics card to follow the GTX Titan series and it packs the same GK110 Kepler GPU as the GTX Titan Black launched a few months ago . The impressive Titan Z packs a whooping 5760 GK110 cuda cores compared to the Titan black's 2800 , The Titan Z doubles the memory to 12 Gb over the Titan Black and has two 384bit memory channels .The Titan Z scores around 8 Teraflops , but unlike the Titan black, the GK110 cores are clocked to around 700 mhz each , and this puts it well below the Titan Z's 980Mhz per core ,but according to Nvidia spokesman Bryan Del Rizzo the reason to have a slower clock speed per was to make a "card that is cool and quiet, rather than hot and loud." The Titan Black , launched last month was priced at $999 , so with the doubling of specs on the Titan Z , you would expect it to cost double as well right ? wrong ! The Titan Z costs...

CES 2014 - Nvidia Tegra K1 packs 192 CUDA cores , Kepler SMX GPU , and comes in Quad A15 and Dual -64 bit Denver core versions

Related articles CROP CIRCLES unreal engine 4 At its CES press conference, NVIDIA finally revealed the marketing name for Project Logan - NVIDIA's latest mobile SoC: Tegra K1. NVIDIA hasn't said much about the architectural details about its latest Tegra SoC, other than to confirm that it features 192 CUDA cores. Since we already know Tegra K1 is based on NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture, and a single Kepler SMX features 192 CUDA cores, we know that K1 uses a single Kepler SMX. With K1, NVIDIA ditches the GeForce ULP GPU core that was present in the previous four generations of Tegra and moves mobile onto the same roadmap as the desktop/notebook GeForce. NVIDIA used the slide below that seems to imply convergence between the Tegra and GeForce architectures going forward, even beyond Kepler. Tegra K1 will be available in quad-core Cortex A15 (+1 shadow Cortex A15 core) and dual-core Denver (64-bit ARMv8) versions. The Cortex A15 version will be avaduilable in 1H...

Intel IRIS - Intergrated graphics might finally become "cool"

Intel's Iris graphics are going to provide a 2x improvement to 3D performance over Intel's current HD 3000, and HD 4000 that are wrapped into Ivy Bridge cores. Basically, games that would crawl, stutter, or not run at all on older boxes (like your Call of Dutys and Bioshock Infinites) are going to be up for grabs once ultrabooks with Haswell start rolling out. Iris will come in two flavors: Intel Iris Graphics 5100, which you'll find on the Intel 4th Gen Core i7-4000U series for ultrabooks, and Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200 which will be making its appearance on H and R-series chips that'll be packed into beefier laptops and all-in-one desktops respectively. So your ultrabooks are going to be up to gaming snuff (if you're down with sacrificing some of the crazier settings), but your more serious (and less portable) machines are going to get an even bigger boost. Intel's boasting that 2x performance increase across the board from ultrabooks on up, and three...
