Tablets with cellular connectivity is nothing new ,the concept ,which became global after the launch of the 1st gen iPad gave users the option to use a data sim for media consumption and internet , but later on ,some  tablets which ran Android started serving dual purposes by allowing voice calls and texts which meant that users can swap sims , or use the tablet as the main device altogether , although holding a large screen device to your face is kind of awkward , that hasn't stopped the sectors' growth during the past few years and according to a new report from IDC , tablets with telephoning functionality has started to sell rapidly . According to the new Report , Android tablets that allow telecommunications are responsible for 25% of all tablet sales in the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan) this quarter , the number of slates shipped is estimated to be 13.8 million and out of that a massive 3.5 million units are voice-capable tablets , according to the findings...

The HTC One M8 is one of the most anticipated devices of this year , the device was put on sale right after launch unlike its competitors and this has now caused a few issues in supply of the device because , according to the latest reports from Taiwan ,the demand for the M8 has overwhelmed the supply of the device . The Taiwanese(Asia specific)HTC M8 has a 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor rather than the 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor used in the European and American versions of the same phone. The device costs NTD 21900 which is about $720. We really expected the Nokia X to be a hit,with its ultra affordable $90 price tag and Android(forked) with the Nokia Badge , this might very well bring Nokia some fame and fortune for the years to come , Today , Nokia has updated their Weibo account with a picture thanking the 1 million pre orders from China recieveed during the last 4 days .The smartphone , which is scheduled for a March 25 sales launch is expected to be well recieved globally as it undercuts the lesser equipped competition with solid build quality , decent hardware and good prices and a desirable badge .

A new survey from Gartner, who previously predicted that Apple would reign supreme until 2015, has revealed the Android has taken 62% of the tablet OS market share. What helped Google’s OS is their wide range of tablet options: more affordable, smaller screen Android tablets means more sales. Google’s own Nexus line of tablets probably help account for many of these sales. Samsung’s tablet market share exploded with a 336% growth in market share, accounting for 19.1% of all tablet sales and making them the number one Android tablet manufacturer. If you’re a fan of older iPhones we might have some good news for you. There’s a rumor going around that Apple might do the unthinkable and re-launch the iPhone 4 (8GB) in the Indian market. The story comes via the Economic Times of India, which cites unnamed industry sources. Apple is supposedly choosing this strategy to counteract the drop in marketshare it has seen in the country. The recent launch of the iPhone 5S and 5C has done very little for Apple as the company has effectively priced itself out of the market even with the supposed cheaper version of the iPhone 5C. A relaunch of the iPhone 4 would give Apple a somewhat strong contender in the middle to low-end segment of the market, being priced somewhere around the $250 price point. Gartner predicts the open-source platform will reach about 1.1 billion users, which is a 26% increase over what it currently has. The research firm also anticipates over 75 % of Android overall active users to come from emerging markets by 2017. With Android 4.4 KitKat focusing on reaching more end users from the developing markets, the forecast seems quiet reasonable. Mobile phone shipments are expected to increase by 5% in the calendar year, taking the overall figure to 1.9 billion. The future of tablets, hybrids and ultraportable laptops is bright with the analysts predicting a growth rate of 54%. The worldwide tablet market will also see an increase of 47%, provided the average selling prices of slates goes down. Gartner has released its report on mobile phone sales in the third quarter of the year and it shows smartphones continue to outsell featurephones for second quarter in a row. On a global scale, smartphones sales reached 250.2 million, taking up 55% of all cell phone sales. That's a 45.8% increase over the same quarter last year. Overall, phone sales totaled 455.6 million units, which is also higher than Q3 2012 albeit only by 5.7%. According to Gartner, the region that saw most of the rise for both smartphones and feature phones is Asia/Pacific. There, the smartphone segment grew by 77.3% on a yearly basis, while featurephones marked an increase of 11.9%. The other notable regions that saw a rise in sales of smartphones were Western Europe, North America and South America. As far as phone manufacturers are concerned, the only notable change from the previous quarter is the rise of Lenovo to the third spot.
