According to new rumors , Nintendo's upcoming NX console is said to run Android as its operating system . Nikkei - a Japanese newspaper published the news and due to the news papers high reputation , this rumor is quite plausible . The reason for shifting to Android might be due to the ongoing console wars which pushed Nintendo Wii'ng back home .Android , which already has a established console division gave rise to popular Android consoles such as Ouya , Shield and Razer Forge and the Nexus player and so the Nintendo might have some luck there .
