HTC to dish out Android 4.4.2+Sense 6 updates for all 2013 flagship phones in June and July of this year

With the highly anticipated HTC One (M8) is only a few hours away from its official launch ,the older flagships of the last year look on as they slowly disappear from the front pages . But as HTC promised , the phones that came out in 2013 will be supported for 2 years worth of updates , and according to a latest leak , the HTC One M7, One max , One Mini and the Butterfly S will recieve the Android 4.4.2 +Sense 6 update during June and July of this year . Sadly due to lack of support from the chip provider Nvidia , updates for the 2012 flagship phones - the HTC One X and the X+ has been canceled ,and this will surely leave a few remaining One X owners(including myself) feeling a little down ,but fear not because you can always install a 3rd party rom after a good rooting process . IFA 2013 - Alcatel One Touch Hero is one Jack of All Trades ...

In what must be IFA 2013′s best candidate for “Jack of All Trades” smartphone device is the ALCATEL ONE TOUCH HERO (all in caps, to be proper), with a built-in stylus, E Ink cover, and Pico Projector accessory. This device is like a cherry-picked do-it-all smartphone made to take on every odd ability smartphones have been graced with over the past two years. Alcatel presents in the HERO a device that – believe it or not – may just be able to live up to its name. The Alcatel One Touch Hero (we’ll be calming down on the caps for the rest of this article, for sanity’s sake) brings on a 6-inch display with Full HD (that’s 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) with full Oleophobic coating across its glass covering to avoid fingerprints. This device also works with “full lamination” as the other Alcatel device today was revealed to have.Inside you’ve got an unnamed quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal memory OR 8GB of internal memory. If you’re working with the smaller stor...

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - list of countries that will get the Exynos and/or Snapdragon versions released

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy Note III is allegedly going to launch in a couple of versions each sporting a different chipset under the hood. Apparently, SamMobile has got hold of a list of countries to which Samsung is going to distribute the Galaxy Note III powered by the Exynos 5420 Octa chipset and the Snapdragon 800 variants. The Exynos 5420-powered Galaxy Note III is listed under the SM-N9000 model name, while the Galaxy Note III with Snapdragon 800 goes by the SM-N9005 name and it is the one to sport LTE connectivity. Unfortunately, the Exynos-one lacks 4G network support. Both versions are going to pack 3GB of snappy LPDDR3 RAM. Here's a quote from SamMobile's source regarding availability of both versions of the Galaxy Note III in countries where LTE is available. If your country gets both processor variants, it is a decision based on the marketing plan of Samsung. Which means if there are LTE networks in your country, Samsung will start wit...

LG's rumored G Pad is a 8.9 " full HD tablet which may be unveiled at IFA 2013

For two years, LG has seemingly abandoned the booming Android tablet market, after the 8.9-inch Optimus Pad disappointed critics and failed to attract customers. But it looks that LG has been plotting a comeback. The first clue was a trademark filing that included the term “G Pad”, among a few others, suggesting that the Korean manufacturer was working behind the scenes on a new tablet. Now according to the Greek site TechBlog, the G Pad is not only real, but it’s coming our way in just a few weeks. Citing sources with knowledge of the device, TechBlog claims that the G Pad features an 8.9-inch display of 1920 × 1200 resolution, which translates to an approximate pixel density of 247 ppi. An unspecified quad-core processor (probably a Snapdragon 600 or 800) and 2GB of RAM will power the device. In terms of design, the G Pad is reportedly going to feature an aluminum back, and, despite the size of its display, it will be narrow and thin enough to fit in a pocket. LG’s new Androi...

Android 4.3 brings more improvements for content consumption

With the introduction of the new Nexus 7 , complete with the same name as it had in its first iteration, Google revealed that Android 4.3 would also be called Jelly Bean. This system’s detailing began with a boost to Multi-User abilities with Restricted Profiles – this is for parents, for the most part, allowing and dis-allowing bits and pieces of the operating system depending on the user. From there, Google launched directly into Bluetooth Smart – also known as Bluetooth Low Energy, this coming alongside Bluetooth 4.0. Google’s Android 4.3 will be coming in with OpenGL ES 3.0 for developers – this will open a lot of doors for next-generation games in an environment that brings a lot of support for higher-definition graphics and 3D gaming. Demoing 3D abilities with a showing by the folks at Silicon Studio, then moving on to a futuristic motorcycle game powered by the Unity gaming engine, Google made the case for Android being a prime spot for the next generation in groundbreakin...

Next Nexus 7 Synthetic Benchmarks leak out , S4 pro with 2GB ram runs the show

This evening, the new Nexus 7 was spotted in a couple shots posted by a Reddit user, complete with packaging and a timestamp. A few short hours later, the folks over at Android Police have produced a full roster of specifications and benchmarks for the 7-inch slate, giving the most detailed look at the upcoming Nexus 7 yet. The Nexus 7 is codenamed Razor, and according to the benchmarks features a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 display, as various leaks have suggested. With the bar on the screen, the actual resolution works out to 1200 x 1824 pixels. Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM. Andreno 320 is pegged for the GPU. Also as leaks have suggested, the slate runs Android 4.3, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out what exactly the changes that come with that entail. As far as the hardware goes, the new Nexus 7 is pretty much on par with the Nexus 4, although the Quadrant benchmarks for the slate show it scoring a bit hig...

Next Nexus 7 packaging leaks out

The new Nexus 7 appeared earlier this week in press photos, and today we’re getting another look at the device, this time in a couple of shots that include its packaging. The leak comes from a Reddit user who claimed to have just received the device, promising more images to follow shortly, though none have been provided yet. The images were posted by Reddit user xQckx, along with a timestamp in the images. One show the box the Nexus 7 2 came in, and the second shows the tablet resting on the opened packaging, with Google’s logo visible in the bottom and some plastic scattered about. Unfortunately, there’s not much to tell about the device from the leak. The user hasn’t yet responded to any questions about where he or she got the device, and has deleted at least one of his responses in the comment thread, so don’t get your hopes too high about more images. The tablet in the image does match the leaks we’ve seen in recent times, however, including the press shots that surfaced yest...

Moto X promotional video demos a always listening feature from the next version of Android , may raise privacy concerns

The heavily-anticipated Moto X phone has posed for the cameras once again, this time in a sleek promotional video for Canadian mobile carrier Rogers. The demonstration video details many of the new features that'll debut on the device, including the always-listening voice command software that does not require users to touch the device. The so-called Open Mic feature will allow users to ask questions, bring up Google Now data, set alarms, or get directions just by talking to the device. Starting at 0:23 – “ Your Moto X is ready to listen and respond. Talk to it, and it learns your voice. With the power of Google Now, it tells you what you need to know, even when you’re not touching the screen.” Back when Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich was first introduced, there was a feature – and there continues to be a feature – tagged as “open microphone”. This is an experience that currently works with Android devices allowing voice dictation and streaming voice recognition – at the m...
