AMD announces Radeon RX 6600 XT - 1080p gaming for $379

AMD has officially announced their latest RDNA 2 based Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU. The new budget-end graphics card - priced at $379 (before Scalpers) offers 1080p gaming and is optimized for budget builds where you don't necessarily need eye popping 4K gaming. The 6600 Xt features 8GB of memory (GDDR6) and 32 compute cores and features a 2359 base clock speed and 2589 MHz when boosted. The Navi 23 GPU can technically - deliver up-to 8K output (HDMI 2.1) and is ideal if you want to run a media hub as well. Gaming on the card is ideal at 1080p and so far all modern AAA titles are playable - but if you want to go beyond 1080p without jitters - the 6700T or the 68-6900 series will be the better option. Power draw on the card is said to be 160W and you can expect various hardware OEM's producing their own chassis for the RX6600 XT in the coming days and is avilable from august 11th.  Gigabyte's take on the RX 6600 XT - Via Gigabyte Source -  Cnet

AMD Ryzen 3 is officiall

AMD has been rocking Intel HQ for a while now , the processors , which undercut the high price monopoly enjoyed by Intel for similar performance is now set to get even better with the announcement of the Ryzen 3 series which is technically the arch nemesis of the Intel Core i3 series  . As we said earlier , the Ryzen series is basically designed to give intel a run for their money and put AMD back on the map . For many years , Intel's Core iX series remained unchallenged ,but now with the Ryzen 7 and the whole advantage was simply lost overnight (which eventually prompted Intel to announce their Extreme Core i9 series ) . The Ryzen 5 , which challenges the i5 series was also received well and cost much less than their intel counterparts , and now we have the entry level Ryzen 3 - which is technically a Core i3 killer.! The Ryzen 3 - which comes in two variants  - 1200 and 1300X models , both models come at affordable prices starting at $109 for the 12...

AMD Ryzen 7

AMD has unveiled their latest bang for buck high performance  processors dubbed Ryzen . The new Ryzen series , according to our " intel" , the new Ryzen chips are somewhat faster (in benchmarks) than their equivalent Core i competitors  while costing a small fraction of their silicon . The family - the Ryzen 3 ( core i3 rival) , the Ryzen 5 and ...you guessed it ..Ryzen 7 are all part of AMD's efforts to break the processor wars by offering an alternative if you are hard on configuring your system . For now , AMD has only announced the Ryzen 7 series which are all 8 core processors with 3 categories which include the Ryzen 7 - 1700   , Ryzen 7 - 1700X and the Ryzen 7 1800x   . The entry level model - the 1700 is apparently 46% faster (than the i7 - 7700K) in multithreaded operations in cinebench and the 1700x is 4% faster than the i7 - 6900k and 39% faster than the i7 - 6800K .The 1800K model matched the i7-6900K in the  single thread score  and in the mu...

AMD 6th generation "Carrizo- A" processor unveiled

AMD unveiled three laptop class processors today. The three processors which are coded-  A8 , A10 and FX are a part of AMD's Carrizo -A line of efficient yet powerful chip sets designed for mobile computing on the go . The chips , designed on a 28nm fabrication has 12 cores inside - 4 of them are based on AMD's Excavator architecture while the other 8 are GPU cores based on the 3rd Gen Graphics Core next ones. The module , even though it is based for low power consumption can still give enough GPU power to match the A10 Kaveri Desktop platform in GPU performance @15W (in the case of the high end A10 Carrizo that is ) The GPU supports Direct X 12 . Encoding and decoding ultra HD codecs is also added namely 4K H.264,HEVC / H.265 in decoding as well as 4K Mjpeg ,Divx  and so on . The new processors are also said to include a mobile 32bit processor - a Single Cortex A5 chip for AMD's "Secure Technology" that acts as a safe zone by partitioning the operation f...

AMD releases new Radeon R7 240, R7 250, and R7 260X GPU's

Late last month AMD officially announced two new Radeon GPU series including the R9 and R7. At the time AMD didn’t offer a lot of details on its new R7 series of GPUs, but AMD has now come clean with all the details for several new R7 products. AMD says that this new series is ideal for everyday gamers looking for better graphics performance from their computers. The R7 family also supports AMD Mantle technology allowing game developers to take advantage of GCN-powered cores on the PC and console for a streamlined development process. The graphics card family supports DirectX 11.2 and is designed to unlock improved graphics performance and features in the Windows 8.1 operating system. The R7 260X is the high-end part of the family and integrates high-quality audio technology along with graphics performance. This GPU has 896 stream processors within engine clock operating at up to 1.1 GHz. The GPU promises 1.97 TFLOPS of compute performance and has 2 GB of GDDR5 RAM with a price of ...

AMD to develop their own microprocessors for Android and Chrome OS devices

Be prepared to see mobile devices and laptops running Android and Chrome OS using AMD chips under the hood. It’s reported that the chip maker is open to designing and developing chips that are catered to support Android and Chrome OS. AMD will still be committed to Windows machines, but they hope to expand more into mobile territory in the future. Talking with PC World, AMD’s senior vice president and general manager of global business units, Lisa Su, says that the company is expanding its operating system options as they designs chips based on the x86 and ARM architectures, both of which are capable of supporting different kinds of operating systems. However, it seems AMD wants to only focus on special projects with partners when developing these kinds of chips, rather than mass produce them for any manufacturer to use at any time. Of course, AMD is sticking their own chips inside Microsoft’s and Sony’s respective gaming console, but the company has largely only been focused on ...
