Pentax K1 Mark II

Pentax has officially launched the Pentax K1 Mark II - a successor to the original K1 from 2016 , the camera ,designed around a 36.4 MP full frame sensor , features a  SAFOX 12 image processor and PRIME IV image processor which help the camera achieve better autofocusing thank the pervious model . The ISO range , which is set from 100 - 819200 allows better low light performance and even video ISO has been raised to 25600 . The sensor , which is housed inside a magnesium -alloy body , is fully weather sealed and this also includes the new 3.2" Tilt-able display unit at the back which has a 1027k dot resolution.  . The camera also has a optical viewfinder which has 100% viewfinder coverage . Rest of the specs include support for K mount lenses such as the  KAF4, KAF3, KAF2 (power zoom compatible), KAF, KA mount lenses as well , the sensor features 5 axis image stabilization therefore the camera will have a definite advantage over other DSLR peers when it comes...

Ricoh announces HD Pentax-DA* 11-28mm f2.8 and FA* 50mm f1.4

Ricoh has officially announced two new lenses for Pentax SLR cameras . The HD Pentax DA*11-28mm f2.8 lens is designed for APSC Pentax K3 , K70 and KP bodies and due to the crop factor , the lens ends up being 17-27.5mm (35mm eqv) . The lens a part of the Pentax Star series lineup is said to be available early next year . Also announced is the Pentax FA* 50mm f1.4 , this , designed mostly with full frame cameras in mind (K1) is weather sealed for all your outdoor activities .The lens also features a  new ring SDM (Supersonic direct drive motor) Autofocus motor which provides silent AF operation , the minimum focusing distance of the lens is 0.4m Pentax is yet to announce pricing and availability details of this lens . The new 85mm f1.8 might not sound groundbreaking , but if you are a fan of dreamy bokkeh with creamy skin tones and shoot at high apertures  then this prime is certainly something to have in your bag . The lens , which joins the Velvet 56mm offers a artistic,fun and a unique way of shooting portraits which according to Lensbaby, offers a way to "Compose impressionistic masterpieces with a velvety glow at bright apertures, straight out of camera. Pentax KP

Pentax has announced a new DSLR to replace the 2 year old  K3 II . The new camera , which sports a new PRIME 4 image processor , a 24mp APS-C CMOS sensor with a maximum iso of 819,200 and a maximum shutter speed of 1/6000(1/24000 electronic shutter)  . The camera , designed with some elements from the K1 Full frame camera is also equipped with a 5 axis mechanical stabilization system as well . The body of the camera - which is weather resistant is also said to be able to operate in -10 degrees C allowing Pentax users to explore harsh environments for that perfect picture  Pentax KP is expected to cost $1099 . Pentax M E Mirrorless system leaked

VIA - Asobinet Pentax is apparently planning on re-launching the Pentax M-E nameplate as a mirrorless system this year . The camera , simply known as the Pentax M E apparently packs a APS-C sensor in favor of the SLR innards of the previous generation .Not much about the device is known ,but rumors speculate it to be a 20 - 24 MP APS-C (with some relation to Nikon's sensor lineup) sensor with a Anti aliasing filter , a weather sealed retro inspired body and a K mount (adapter) .
