In a strange move by ZTE, the company is planning to sell its latest handset in the US and UK by listing it on eBay. Of course, this wouldn’t the first time that companies have resorted to eBay for selling their products, but it’s interesting to see a mobile phone maker sell their devices directly through eBay instead of their own website. The phone is called the ZTE Open, and it will feature the Firefox OS, making it one of the first of several such devices to release in the US. The phone will be sold exclusively in orange for just $80 unlocked. And because it’s unlocked, Mozilla says that the phone won’t come with any local apps or features, meaning no bloatware! The long-rumoured Firefox OS-powered tablet has now been made official. Revealed at a Foxconn press event during Computex 2013 in Taipei, the tablet emerged sat on a desk next to a Foxconn employee. While there are absolutely no details whatsoever as to the tablet's internal specifications, its presence is definitely confirmation of Firefox's tablet plans. Irritating that we can't know more, but we have reached out to Mozilla and will be posting more the moment we know it. Just a week after rolling out the latest version of its Firefox OS simulator, Mozilla has announced that it’s offering a nifty new proposition to would-be FFOS developers. If you’ve got an idea for a killer HTML5 application and the technical chops (or at least the drive) to make it a reality, Mozilla wants to give you a Firefox OS developer device. And the devices in question? None other than the seemingly popular Keon from Spanish smartphone startup Geeksphone — one of the very same devices that forced Geeksphone to limit their sales to ensure that the team would be able to stay on top of existing orders.
