Microsoft at first hoped that their Surface tablets will woo in many customers who were in the market for high end tablets , but sadly the effort was in vain as large quantities of unsold Surface tablets are still piled up in warehouses , the biggest flaw in Microsoft's policy was the addition of the Windows RT system into the brand name Surface , this move not only confused the average Joe , but also brought in a bad reputation to Microsoft  which now faced a sitiation similar to one they faced during the launch of the Kin . The Surface "Pro" lineup fared better , but the RT failure confused many potential buyers of the Pro to turn away , making the Entire Surface lineup feel like a disaster .but Microsoft , in its policy of "never giving up" decided to give a second shot at the Surface lineup with the Surface 2 and Surface 2 RT , as usual , the RT model was completly ignored by the general public  , the Pro on the other hand was sold better , but their pric...

Windows RT tablets get their prices slashed ...

We heard a few days ago that retailers were beginning to discount Microsoft’s Surface RT tablet, but it wasn’t clear if this was a retailer-focused sale, or if Microsoft was beginning to discount its lower-end tablet line altogether. However, Microsoft officially lowered the price of the Surface RT to a mere $349 in Microsoft Stores. The entry-level 32GB model costs only $349, which is a discount of $150 from the original $499 price tag. As for the 64GB version, that’s now selling for $449 (originally $599). Both Best Buy and Staples also have the discounts up and ready to go, although they jumped the gun a bit early a couple days ago. However, Staples noted that the sale lasted until July 20 (or while supplies last), but Microsoft’s website lists no specific end date, suggesting that the price drop may be permanent, which would officially undercut its main competitor by a whopping $150. This could lead to tablet buyers taking a second look at the Surface RT. Windows RT has lar...

Qualcomm is well on its way to getting the Snapdragon 800 processors out there, but in the meanwhile, it has announced support for Windows RT 8.1. Both Microsoft and Qualcomm are working together in the matter, and some time later this year it is expected devices, such as tablets, are going to be rolled out running Windows RT 8.1 and Snapdragon 800 processors. For its part, Microsoft is going to be rolling out the Window RT 8.1 update in the Windows Store later on this year. Unfortunately, Qualcomm doesn’t say when specifically the new devices running both the hardware and software will start to become available, nor what kind of devices will be rolling out, only that it expects them to start hitting shelves later in 2013. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors, in addition to supporting Windows RT services and features, offer speeds-per-core up to 2.2GHz, USB 3.0 for connectivity, and a multi-mode integrated 3G and 4G LTE modem. The combination of this hardware and software, say...
