Apple's full size iPad series was and always has been one of the most desirable tablet in the market today . The Apple tablet series provided excellent battery life and thanks to its 4.3 aspect ratio , it was more suitable for people who do alot of internet browsing and mobile gaming . but after 5 generations of iPads , the largest update to the marque so far is said to happen on the 16th of October when Apple is said to anounce the iPad Air 2 . The Apple iPad Air 2 , unlike the previous iPad , is said to be 0.5mm thinner so the official thickness will be 7.0 mm .The new iPad will also feature a new display philosophy with the display panel fused together to form a thin laminate which wasn't available in previous generations .The Mute button , which was available on the side of previous iPad's will be replaced due to the new thickness and the volume rockers are said to be more recessed as well . A few hours ago , we posted a article about a 8GB iPhone 5C . But now we have another story from Apple confirming the discontinuation of the iPad 2 . The iPad 2 , until today was sold as the entry level iPad at $399 ,the device , introduced during the Steve Jobs era was one of the most successful tablet devices produced by the company and it because the signature design of the iPad until the new iPad Air was launched . In its place , Apple has re-commissioned the iPad 4 as the new entry level Apple tablet at $399 (16GB WiFi Only) . The iPad 2 was one of the last Apple devices to be sold with the old 30 pin adapter so the move to replace it with a lightning port equipped, high resolution display  iPad was bound to happen ,sooner or later ,the same can be said about the 8GB iPhone 5C because Apple plans to do away with the carrier contract -free old iPhone 4S in a similar fashion . Apple has officially announced the latest version of its iPad tablet. The newly named iPad Air features a design that's reminiscent of the iPad mini released last year. It's thinner and lighter than prior versions, and features a smaller bezel, which shrinks the footprint of the tablet down without compromising on screen size. Apple says it's 20 percent thinner at only 7.5mm thick, and weighs just 1.0 pound (28 percent less than the previous iPad). The screen remains the same; it's a 9.7-inch Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. This is the first major redesign of Apple's flagship tablet since the iPad 2 was released in March 2011. The iPad Air features the 64-bit A7 processor and M7 motion coprocessor found in the iPhone 5S, which Apple says is 8 times faster and has 72 times better graphics performance than the old processor. Apple will hold an invitation-only event on October 22nd to show off its new iPads, as well as the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks release, according to a report from All Things D’s John Paczkowski. That timing seems just right for the new iPads to make an appearance — last year’s event was held on October 23rd — and Apple has previously slated OS X Mavericks for a ‘fall’ release. It also makes some sense for Apple to talk about the Mac pro, also slated for fall, and to hopefully deliver us a release date. The new iPads will include a full-size iPad and new iPad mini. It’s unclear whether Apple will up the Mini to Retina resolution this time around, but that seems fairly likely. With the next Apple event coming on quick, the folks at KGI have suggested that both the iPad 5 and the iPad mini 2 will be coming with not just updated casings, but an updated back-facing camera too. The 5th generation iPad has been predicted to be appearing in bulk, so says KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, while the iPad mini 2 will be in slightly short supply due to the lack of full-speed-ahead retina display production. Meanwhile both devices will be appearing, says Ming-Chi, with 8-megapixel back-facing cameras in tow. It’s suggested that both the iPad mini 2 and the iPad 5 will be produced in bulk by the time 2014 rolls around, but before then (according to Rueters), numbers will be restricted for the smaller of the two devices.
