According to rumors, Panasonic - even in the world of full frame sensors, is still said to be working on a successor to the GH5. But in a strange twist, the GH5 successor is not said to be called the GH6 but the GH5 II (Mk2). The camera however shares a lot of specs similar to the current GH5 and even the predecessor and to be honest - feels a bit of a downgrade. The specifications according to Nokishita Camera are" Panasonic “LUMIX DC-GH5M2”  20.33mp  4K60p   3.68 million dots 120fps EVF  DMW-BLK22 battery  size 138.5x 98.1×87.4mm  weight 647g   $1697($ 2297 with 12-60mm kit). Panasonic is on a roll with its Micro Four thirds cameras recently . The GH5 , launched as their flagship mirrorless camera quickly became the darling of video shooters all over the world . But Panasonic ,who decided to cash in on the GH5's success ,launched the photo oriented LUMIX G9 last month . The new G9 basically had almost the same features as the GH5 , but was designed to be more of a rugged nature camera (following the likes of the Olympus OMD EM1 II) . If you are a fan of Micro 4/3 cameras , then there is a good chance that you already know about the upcoming Lumix G9 - a photography oriented Lumix body sharing GH5 internals for a slightly cheaper price . Panasonic really hit a home run with their GH5 ,  the camera , praised highly for its video capabilities and ergonomics has so far received positive reviews from customers and reviewers alike . Although the GH5 was set up from day 1 to shoot high quality video on its Micro 4/3 sensor , the camera is still quite a capable device in capturing stills, and this , combined with the launch of several high resolution stills cameras from rival manufacturers,  prompted Panasonic to respond in kind with the not yet announced - Panasonic G9 ! - A Micro 4/3 camera set up as a high resolution stills camera . Panasonic has reclaimed the MFT throne with the GH5 , the new camera - aimed at semi pro videographers,it might sound like a minor update to the GH4 at first , but instead its a whole new animal .
