Microsoft's Xbox One launch has seen some bumps in the road but the company has announced it's already sold more than a million consoles worldwide. Last week, Sony announced the PS4 sold more than one million units in the US and Canada in less than a day, but at this point, Microsoft has not made any such regional distinctions. Still, the "biggest launch in Xbox history" is well under way and already outpacing its predecessor's initial numbers -- day one download and all - Engadget

HTC is allegedly working on an Octa-core variant of its current flagship smartphone, the HTC One. According to a new report, the upcoming version of the metallic beauty will also feature 3 GB of RAM. The HTC One with Octa-core processor is also said to come with a couple of software tweaks One of the major software additions include the clear audio option, which enhances the audio performance and improves the clarity during calls. If the rumors are to be trusted, the upcoming HTC One variant will feature more antennas to cover all networks across US, Europe and Asia. Apart from the above additions the other hardware specifications remain similar to the original model, which comes with a 4.7-inch display, UltraPixel camera and a 2,300mAh battery. HTC has announced that it has teamed up with British designer David Koma to produce a special edition of the HTC One mini. An extremely limited production run of 10 units will be made and each phone will contain one of two distinctive patterns created by Koma. One pattern reflects his designs for the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, and the other is a preview of his Spring/Summer 2014 show. The designs are printed onto the aluminum back of the HTC One mini and the only way for consumers to obtain one is to win a contest being held over Twitter from September 4th through the 23rd by HTC's U.K. subsidiary. To enter, you need to submit your own design based on Koma's work using any medium or material, and reflecting the idea of "change". You then tweet your entry to #htckoma. The Taiwanese site ePrice has got hold of a live image of the HTC One Max posing for a family photo HTC One Mini and HTC One. The said shot reveals an HTC One Max feature that we haven't heard of so far - a fingerprint scanner. Last week, evleaks outed an allegedly official render of the HTC One Max, which doesn't have a fingerprint reader on its back. This makes us think that the cool feature might just be available for select regions. Judging from the photo, the HTC One Max appears to have 3 dock connectors, which suggest that it will be getting such an accessory at launch. Apple has its dewy lifestyle ads, Samsung its combination of aggressive insults and sheer unfettered lunacy. And if a new ad starring Robert Downey Jr. is any indication, HTC has decided to just throw initialisms at the wall and see what sticks. Remember when HTC decided to add its own contributions to the One Mini rumor mill by using its own infographic? It seems the Taiwan-based company is following the same trend with the HTC One Max, a device that we've heard about for what seems like months. On its official Twitter account, it posted a teaser in the form of a six-second Vine, three simple words and a hashtag: "big things ahead. #HTChange." HTC isn’t just relying on the One to turn its 2013 around: the company has the HTC One mini to help with that, a new 4.3-inch version of the aluminum smartphone. Slimming the flagship down – as well as some of the core specifications – the One mini is fronted by a 720p touchscreen where the One has 1080p, but still keeps the UltraPixel camera and Zoe photography system, among other things. Just a few minutes ago, it seems someone over at the official HTC blog pulled the trigger on an HTC One Mini teaser campaign a bit early. A post titled "Little Things That Pack a BIG Punch" was live for a few moments, only to quickly disappear. It was a pretty obvious hint at the upcoming HTC One Mini, which is perhaps best-known at this point as HTC's worst-kept secret. When the Verizon HTC One hit the same process we’re seeing a new HTC One Mini (aka HTC M4) entering today with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, it was unveiled by the carrier later that day. Today, on the other hand, it’s a bit more likely that this machine will remain under cover. The HTC M4 has been rumored to be in the mix for a late summer 2013 release for some time – in some cases, appearing as an HTC One Mini before the HTC One was revealed on its own! The upcoming Butterfly and One mini are both set to have Ultrapixel cameras. That’s about where the similarities, end, so we’ll start with the One mini. The mini, which is clearly a Galaxy S4 mini competitor, has a 4.3” screen displaying in 720p, but keep many of the same specs as the HTC One. It will reportedly have a 1,700mAh battery, and 16GB of storage. The Butterfly, however, is more like a beefed up One. While no reliable specs are available, it is said to have a larger battery, Micro SD slot, and updated Snapdragon processor. Expect the phone later this month. Does all this mean the HTC One is dead in the water? Not at all. With an upcoming Nexus experience device, and these two new phones designed and built from its architecture, the One is HTC’s new blueprint device. The Taiwanese company seems to be riding the wave of admiration and attention the device is getting, and is set to release two color variants – blue and red – sometime this summer.

Speaking to Walt Mossberg at D11 this morning, Google's Sundar Pichai offered glorious news for anyone who loves the HTC One but craves an untouched Android experience: he confirmed that there is indeed a stock Android 4.2.2 version of the flagship device One coming, and it will be fully unlocked for T-Mobile and AT&T at the solid price of $599. It'll go on sale in the Google Play Store on June 26th, the same date as its $649 counterpart, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 stock edition. The new version of the device -- which will be sold in the US initially -- will come SIM-unlocked, with an unlocked bootloader and 32GB storage. In terms of radios, it will offer quadband LTE (700/850/AWS/1900), triband HSPA+ (850/1900/2100) and the usual quadband GSM / EDGE. Of course, going with a pure Android device. Samsung Sells 10 million S4's while HTC sells 5 million One's  According to the Wall Street Journal, an unnamed HTC executive has revealed that the company has sold roughly 5 million units of the HTC One since the device went on sale in late March. At this time, orders for the HTC One still exceed HTC’s production capacity, but that issue is expected to be resolved by the end of May. Orders are pretty good so far and are still more than what we can supply. This is partly due to the shortage of components. Love it or hate it, HTC is fully behind their Android skin, Sense. With each upgrade it is promised to be slimmer and easier to use, but still people complain about it getting in the way of their phone. Sense 5 debuted with their newest flagship the HTC One this year, but according to an HTC ROM developer, Sense 5 is upcoming for last year’s device, the One X. If this is true, HTC also plans to bring two of the highest profile features from this year’s device back to the One X as well. The curated social news-stream BlinkFeed and the awesome camera feature Zoes are planned to be included in this update as well. With an update of this size however, it could be a while before we see it on the international version of the One X and even longer before any US versions of the device see it. Earlier this month, it was revealed that the HTC One X might be getting the update to Android 4.2.2 in June or July, but now an unconfirmed report says that the update to the latest version of Jelly Bean will be the last operating system upgrade the HTC One X gets. According to HTC leakster @LLabTooFeR, Android 4.2.2 will be the last update the HTC One X receives, meaning that it won’t be getting Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, which Google should announce in May during the search giant’s I/O event. Considering that the Android 5.0 hasn’t been announced yet, there’s still a spark of hope that the One X could get it, as this is an unconfirmed report and isn’t anything official from HTC. On the other hand, @LLabTooFeR has been a reliable source in the past, so it is possible that this is legit information. Back when the HTC One was known to the media by its M7 codename, there were two other HTC phones rumored to come our way in the first half of 2013. These were dubbed M4 and G2 and looked basically like smaller and more modest cousins of the company’s latest flagship. You know, kind of like last year’s One S and V. Facebook unveiled its new Android experience earlier today , Facebook Home, which is a new people-based Facebook apps-rich user interface that will run on top of Android OS, virtually changing your mobile experience. While not all Android users out there will be interested in it, there are plenty of people that use their smartphones to log into Facebook apps on a daily basis. In fact, Facebook mobile apps are among the most used apps out there. Unfortunately, not all Android devices will be able to run Home as soon as the app launches. Initially only a bunch of Samsung and HTC devices will be supported by Facebook Home including the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, HTC One and HTC One X. You have to give it up for the makers of the latest Chinese clone, which doesn’t only replicate the original’s design, but also its name. Almost to the letter. The gadget pictured above is the HDC One, a pretty good knock-off of one of the hottest Android smartphones around – the HTC One. The funny thing is HDC doesn’t only make HTC lookalikes, but also clones for Samsung devices, so it’s almost like this is nothing more than an unfortunate name coincidence. After dealing with supply shortages , HTC has finally come forward with the availability schedule for the HTC One handset and according to the statement - the handset will go on sale in the UK ,rest of Europe and most Asian countries next week but   customers in the North American and Asia -Pacific regions will have to wait till the end of April to get their carrier based devices.
