Samsung's Ice Bucket challenge might have accidentally backfired ...

The ALS Ice Bucket challenge is probably the biggest internet sensation since the Harlem shake , the process , which involves the participant(s) pouring water with ice cubes while naming 3 other competitors while donating some amount for ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) in the process, at first the competition was reserved for the elite , but soon after everyone and their brother took up the challenge as a form of entertainment and all the while managed to generate $80 million for  ALS research.Samsung , which spends billions on advertising annually , decided to use the event to promote the Galaxy S5's waterproofness by doing its own icebucket challnge last Friday . The 15 second video , which consisted of a mounted Galaxy S5 and a S-Voice "voice over" and ice in a pail showed off the waterproof abilities of the Galaxy S5 which remained  soaking wet from the ice water drop and afterwards it(the voice) challenged the iPhone 5S , HTC One M8 and the Nokia Lumia 930 to d...

Sony Xperia M2 Aqua

Sony has been making Waterproof devices for some time , but since the start of last year , Sony prioritized the feature to the Z lineup of premium devices which was sort of a disappointment for those who wanted waterproof features in a affordable package , so Sony has gone back to the drawingboard and designed the Xperia M2 Aqua , as the name suggests , the phone is basically a Xperia M2 underneath , but some design features have been altered to accommodate the waterproof features . First off , the specs , as i said before , the handset is basically a Xperia M2 , the phone has the same Snapdragon 400 processor and same 1GB RAM as well as the storage , LTE and other features , The camera on the M2 Aqua is a 8mp sensor and it features a LED flash and a vga front camera like the  M2 .The battery is still non removable and it comes at 2330mAh's . The differences however include the said waterproof additions , which include rubber lined flaps for charging ports , sim and MicroSD c...

iOS7 waterproof hoax goes viral (don't feed the Troll)

There’s little doubt now that the world understands Apple’s design language so well that those with the ability to replicate it have more power than they know what to do with. Case in point: a falsified advertisement for iOS 7 that suggests the software update can make an iPhone waterproof. People fell for it, hook, line, and sunken smartphone. What you’re about to see is a large image – you may want to right-click and open it up if you’ve not already done so. This image was made by a comedy-seeking fan of the Apple way of doing graphic design for presentations of iDevices and software. What they’ve done is a bang-up job of suggesting iOS 7 will bring waterproofing abilities to your iPhone. If you did not already realize – there’s no software upgrade that can do this for a device that doesn’t already have the ability to repel water. That’s not a technology that exists. Sources like Buzzfeed and The Telegraph show users on both side of the situation at this point, one of them...

LG Optimus GJ hopes to rival the new Sony Xperia ZR

LG has announced the LG Optimus GJ, a waterproof Android handset, jumping into the pool alongside the likes of the Sony Xperia ZR. It offers IXP5 and IPX7 certification. The handset features a 4.7-inch IPS display, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass, with a 1280 x 720 resolution, along with a powerful 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 2GB of RAM. There's 16GB of storage which can be expanded with up to 62GB of microSD and, as you can take the back cover off, you can access the 2280mAh battery to swap it out on those long days. There's a 13-megapixel camera on the rear, and a 1.3-megapixel one on the front. You'll be able to capture 1080p video, as you'd expect, along with the usual Android 4.1 features and functions. In terms of dimensions you're looking at 139.6 x 68.9 x 9.39mm and a weight of 141.2g, so despite the waterproofing, this doesn't look like a handset that's too bulky. Those specs, it has to be said, closely match th...

Bikini babe uses Xperia Z in a shower , in public

The Xperia Z ,on its own is a very sexy handset , but what if you wanted to make it even hotter ,well the Czechs have the answer to that . Get a hot girl to wear a pink bikini and take a shower with the device at a shopping mall - pure genius .Although we are not sure about how many of the guys present will buy a Xperia Z , but im sure almost everyone would have "enjoyed" the show . The promotion was held at the T-Mobile Cz store in Prague and hopefully we would like to see other T-Mobile stores doing similar   promotions in the future (if you know what i mean)  Photos - XperiaBlog

Fujitsu Stylistic M702

Fujitsu doesn’t generally make the kind of cheap Android tablets that have been all the rage lately. Instead the company focuses on adding premium features (like waterproof cases). Two of the company’s latest Android tablets continue the trend, one with a ruggedized case and the other with some advanced security features. The Fujitsu Stylistic M702 is a 10.1 inch 1920x1200 resolution  tablet with a 1.7 Ghz  NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor,2GB of RAM ,32GB of storage, but shamefully it still runs on Android 4.0 (JellyBean is on its way ) the Tablet has a 8 megapixel rear camera with no flash and has a front facing 1.2 mp camera , the tablet has NFC , Bluetooth 4.0,MHL and everything else you'd expect from a good tablet . the tablet has a good battery rating  and gives up to 15 hours of battery life provided by its humongous 10,000 mAh battery  But what makes this tablet special is its durability. It’s waterproof and dust-proof shell , although its not as clea...

Nokia set to make a nano-coated water resistant phone with P2i

The P2i solution  protects your phone on a molecular level making liquid substances bounce off the motherboard and various other internals. The advantage of this type of protection is that it doesn't involve the vacuum caps and lids, which some devices feature (the Xperia Z comes to mind) and the phone has all the usual open spots like a headphone jack, micro USB port, etc. According to sources, Nokia is working with P2i on a water-repelling phone for 2013. The two companies reportedly struck a deal at the Mobile World Congress a couple of days ago but there's no word on what phone (perhaps plural?) will have the coating.
