Just after Nvidia showed off details about their new Tegra Erista mobile processor for 2015 , Audi -which has been a partner with Nvidia since 2012 , rolled a self driving car onto stage .The car , which uses a improved version of the Tegra K1 "Logan" mobile processor was used to demonstrate the processing power of the Nvidia chipset , while showing off Audi's own ingenuity .Previous self driving cars from Audi and other manufacturers used banks of computers where all were stacked in the trunk making the car look more like a experimental vehicle . The new system , using the K1 has a small side pocket where the mobile CPU and its motherboard are kept hidden from view .The K1 cpu however is custom tailored for Audi, but the chip's main 5 Core A15 cores design and the 192 Kepler GPU cores are kept unchanged .
