If you have heard about Russia's Yotaphone 2 , then the concept of dual screens is now new , the Yotaphone was well executed and on paper - but its high price and aging hardware , plus its sketchy availability made it fade into the smartphone background ,but now , Siswoo - a Chinese OEM which we haven't heard until today are re-exploring the two sided display format once again with the R9 Darkmoon .The phone at first glance, basically looks a bit like a OnePlus One (many Chinese handsets share the same design front now) , but on its back , its a completely different story as the white E-ink display and the branding makes the rear of the phone look a bit like the front of the device .The main display of the phone is a 5" 1920x1080p IPS display with 401 ppi , there is also a secondary 4.7" E ink display with a resolution of 540x 960 .Powering the Darkmoon - we have a Mediatek MT6752 64bit Octa core chip clocked to 1.7 Ghz , there i...

MWC 2014 - YotaPhone 2 ,From Россия with love

Lots of new devices are being unveiled today at MWC 2014 in Spain. One of those new devices is the next generation YotaPhone. The original YotaPhone landed last December and brought with it a device with a normal display on one side and an always-on electronic paper display on the other. The idea is that the electronic paper screen will make it easy to read documents while reducing battery consumption. Yota Devices has pulled the wraps off its next generation YotaPhone that has some nice improvements over the original. The new device has full touch control for the always-on electronic paper display. The new device also promises a number of new hardware and software features. Grab them while you can - B&N Tablet+E-reader offer

Bookseller Barnes & Noble has enjoyed a crazy good start with its line of Android-powered tablets. Back in December 2011, the retailer ranked an amazing fourth place in market share thanks to its Nook Color tablet, and seemed capable of turning itself into a powerful player in the tablet business. However, market forces disrupted B&N’s plans, and after a poor 2012 holiday season, the bookseller announced a dismal 26% drop in revenues from its tablet business. In this context, the fact that Barnes & Noble will bundle a free Simple Touch e-reader with every Nook HD+ tablet sold next week should come as no surprise. As reported by Reuters, the promotion could signal an effort to reduce inventories, at a moment when B&N mulls a strategy change, or even a complete exit from the hardware business. For now, the promotion, which is for all purposes a fire sale, isn’t advertised on the B&N site, but do check back starting tomorrow, March 24. The Simple Touch e-reader,...

TXTr Beagle E-Ink reader finally hits the American Shoreline with a price of $69

The Txtr Beagle is a ultra low price E-ink reader from Germany , The reader was originally priced at 10 Euros (or $13) but after a long wait ,its finally outside Europe,and... If the thought of a $13 digital reader excites you, the good news is that the device is now available to pre-order in the United States. The bad news? The device is somewhat more expensive than originally anticipated, with a cool $69 price tag. The price difference can be attributed to the fact that wireless carriers offer subsidies for the txtr beagle. One of the reasons this beagle tablet (originally) seemed so appealing was the incredibly low price. Without the $13 price tag, it's frankly somewhat lacking in features, at least compared to other devices on the market. For example, the Beagle doesn't support Wi-Fi or USB connectivity. The only way buyers can get books on the device is to load them via Bluetooth from their smartphone. Nevertheless, if you still like the idea this little devi...
