CES 2016 - Sony announces three new Android TV's

Sony has just announced three new Android TV's at CES 2016 , the three models XBR - X850D  , XBR - X930D and XBR - X340D  run Android ( Googles modified version of Android for SmartTV's )  .All TV's are equipped with 4K  UHD displays and they are also HDR enabled . The Tv's also have the ability to stream web content directly and they are google cast enabled so you can stream content directly from a smartphone or tablet right to your TV via wifi . All new Sony 4K TV's come with Sony's in house Sony X1 4K processor for handling 4K content and running Android TV . Pricing is not available at the moment , but it will be available soon as Sony plans to launch their TV in the first half of this year . CES 2014 - WebOS still strong on LG's latest smart TV

As hinted over the past weeks, LG had something in store regarding the nearly dead WebOS platform in time for CES 2014. While the Korean manufacturer hasn't yet unveiled a specific TV model running the mobile system yet, it did reveal what it has in mind for upcoming devices. Early last year, LG acquired from HP the WebOS operating system, which was developed by Palm as a last ditch effort to reclaim its status in the mobile industry before also getting bought out in the end. Valve's Steam OS

Valve has revealed SteamOS, the operating system that will power its upcoming living room initiative. According to Valve's site, "SteamOS combines the rock-solid architecture of Linux with a gaming experience built for the big screen. It will be available soon as a free stand-alone operating system for living room machines." "We’ve come to the conclusion that the environment best suited to delivering value to customers is an operating system built around Steam itself," the site continues. SteamOS will tie in with Steam, and "you don’t have to give up your favorite games, your online friends, and all the Steam features you love just to play on the big screen. SteamOS, running on any living room machine, will provide access to the best games and user-generated content available.
