Olympus E - PL9 announced

Olympus has officially announced the new E - PL9 . The new mirrorless camera , designed to succeed the E-PL8 , the new system incorporates 4K UHD recording , a 16MP Live-CMOS  M43 sensor and a TruepicVIII image processor a la EM10III . Designed to work with a 121 contrast detection AF system with eye detection , the camera supports ISO 200 - 6400 in auto and is capable of reaching ISO 100 - 25600 boosted . The camera supports 8.6fps and it can hit shutter speeds of 1/4000 and 1/16000 in electronic shutter , and this coupled with the fact that the camera supports 1/250 flash sync speed ,makes the camera quite capable for casual photography . The 3" touchscreen at the back of the camera is backed up by new and improved user interface by Olympus, the screen supports touch AF as well as touch to enable photo modes and filters built in the camera . Olympus Eyetrek EL-10

Hopes were high when Google and many other companies tried their hand with smart-glasses , the technology ,which revolved around displaying data and recording video and photos via a built in camera was initially promoted as a cool-hip way to connect yourself online , but it was also seen as a cause for concern in a world that was taking privacy seriously . Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm f1.2 PRO and 45mm f1.2 PRO lenses announced

Olympus has officially announced 2 premium lenses for the Micro 4/3 system . The new M.Zuiko 17mm and 45mm  are both f1.2 aperture lenses and are designed to offer resistance against the elements , good bokeh and image quality . The 17mm f1.2  - which equals to about a 35mm in full frame terms features a Extra low dispersion ED-DSA element and features 15 elements in 11 groups with 2 aspherical elements . The lens features a 9 bladed aperture diaphragm and a focus by wire AF system which can be disengaged and controlled in full time manual focus by pulling the ring backwards . The lens , which has a weight of 310g is light enough for most work and thanks to IBIS - in body image stabilization on Olympus (and some Panasonic) bodies , the stabilization can be compensated internally . Olympus OM-D EM10 Mk3

Olympus has officially announced their 3rd generation update to the OM-D EM10 series of mirrorless cameras . The new model , which will henceforth be known as the EM10 MK3 , aims to be the perfect travel camera as it features a compact design , 4K internal recording , 5 axis image stabilization and the support for a plethora of Micro 4/3 lenses from Olympus , Panasonic and other brands . Refurb Olympus mirrorless cameras now available for $149

Always wanted an affordable mirrorless camera ? well Olympus has some goodies for you as their refurbished Olympus E PM2 cameras now retail for a super affordable $149 . The deal , which gets you basically a "mini" PEN series camera from 4 years back still has decent features including a 16MP CMOS sensor with IBIS (mechanical sensor stability - a feature that is still not available on most cameras still) 8fps shooting ,  ISO range from 200-25600  a 3" 400k dot touchscreen display and 1080p @60fps . Olympus TG5

Olympus has anounced a new camera that is tough as nails- Almost ...the new Olympus TG5 anounced today , brings a 12MP BSI sensor and a 25-100mm equvalent lens in a body that can survive freezing weather upto -10c , waterproof upto 15m , drop resistant up to 2.1meters and crushproof  upto 100kg of  pressure . The new camera , called the TG5 is equipped with a 12Mp BSI sensor with the ability to shoot 20fps RAW and recording in 4K in a full pixel readout adnd 120fps recording in 1080p . The non removable lens - which gives a  a 35mm equvalent in the form of a 25-100mm and f2 aperture . The camera is priced at $450 and will be available soon . Via - bhphoto

Olympus to launch successor to SP100 .

Olympus is apparently set to launch a new camera to their Stylus lineup ,the camera , registered as IM005(available  in the "leaked photo" below) is said to contain some compatible parts from its predecessor - the SP100 including the LI 92B battery .Although details are still unavailable , Olympus is expected to launch it soon .
