Maingear has upgraded their current gaming laptop aresnal with Nvidia's GTX980m and GTX970m mobile graphics . The new Mawell based GPU's , which offer 1536 CUDA cores on the GTX980m version and 1280 CUDA cores on the GTX970m are both mobile versions of the their desktop variants minus a few cores .The Maingear Nomad 17 , which is their flagship gaming laptop comes with the GTX980m kit while the Nomad 15 , Pulse 17 and Pulse 15 has the GTX970m option .The Maingear Nomad 17 with GTX980m version costs $2399 and the cheapest option with the 970m costs $2099 . Acer's has unveiled two new gaming laptops in its V Nitro series . The two laptops , which come in two different screen sizes - 15" (V15) and 17" (V17) are both set to launch before December with the V15 set for launch this month and the V17 set for launch in late November . The laptops ,which Acer pushes out as their champion to the somewhat crowded high end laptop space features a low price tag than its rivals . Lenovo has issued a recall of laptop batteries used in the ThinkPad line of products due to a risk of fire from overheating ,Lenovo has mentioned specific computer models and they are listed as follows - Edge 11, 13 and 14 series, the T410, T420, T510 and W510 series, and the X100e, X120e, X200, X201 and X201s.The number of effected batteries are not known but Lenovo estimates it to be around 34500 in the US and 2900 in Canada and it could be even higher elsewhere because some batteries may be purchased without a laptop , or exported .The Black battery packs measures in at around 8-11-inches long and 1-3 inches wide and about 1-inch high and they contain serial numbers starting with the fourth digitas follows - 42T4695, 42T4711, 42T4798, 42T4804, 42T4812, 42T4822, 42T4828, 42T4834, 42T4840 and 42T4890. Teasing its new ultrabook over a week ago, Asus has confirmed the launch of the 13.3-inch touch-enabled Zenbook Infinity at Computex 2013. Featuring an aluminum and glass design, the Zenbook Infinity is Asus' first laptop to use Gorilla Glass — on both the back of the display and the keyboard surround. It follows Acer with the inclusion of the Corning's scratch-resistant glass after it embedded it in the lids of the Aspire S3 and S7. Asus has included an Intel 28W dual-core Haswell processor, two USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort, and an SD card reader. With a thickness of 15.5mm, the Zenbook Infinity is 14 percent thinner than other Zenbook models and is expected to be available in Q3 2013.

Intel's Iris graphics are going to provide a 2x improvement to 3D performance over Intel's current HD 3000, and HD 4000 that are wrapped into Ivy Bridge cores. Basically, games that would crawl, stutter, or not run at all on older boxes (like your Call of Dutys and Bioshock Infinites) are going to be up for grabs once ultrabooks with Haswell start rolling out.
