At launch the 5D mk4 recieved a good dose of attention as many condemned the 1.7x crop in 4K , but like all things ,the small amount of buyers who bought the camera for its Dual pixel AF assisted video learnt to live with it and soon enough an update fixed the crop to 1.27x  (or 1.29x on 1080p) and thigs slowly settled . But now Canon has once again set an update for users which is said to appeal to the video crowd as now the camera allows a flatter C Log recording option . The update , which costs $99 is mostly aimed at the pro end crowd who are serious about color grading as the log profiles have muted shadows and colors which overall wider dynamic range of the footage captured . Major app devs have come down hard on Blackberry BBOS during the past few weeks , Whatsapp - a popular IM/VoIP pulled out of Blackberry's ecosystem and Facebook reported that their native app will no longer work on Blackberry devices starting from 31st March . But in a change of attitude , Facebook has granted one last breath for the platform as the final update to Facebook will let users access the web version of the popular social media site witthout compromise . Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system recieved a lot of flak over the past few months for being too pushy .This however has not stopped its adoption rate and many coroprate firms are already shifting to the new operating system , But as with the case when Windows 8 came along , many users still prefered the older Windows 7 operating system  as it was the most stable operating system so far , this has however reduced the number of users who want to upgrade and therefore Microsoft made a unpopular move by stating that Windows 7 and 8 support on Skylake processors winn end in July of 2017 . This move however brought in negative press and therefore Microsoft has now stated that they will support Windows 7 , 8 and 8.1 through 2017 upto 2018 . Sony has announced its plans for Android 6.0 Marshmallow . The list of devices scheduled to receive the update are as follows . Xperia C4 Xperia C5 Ultra Xperia M4 Aqua Xperia M5 Xperia Z2 Xperia Z2 Tablet Xperia Z3 Xperia Z3 Compact Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Xperia Z3+ Xperia Z4 Tablet Xperia Z5 Compact Xperia Z5 Premium Xperia Z5 Strangely , the Xperia Z1 , the Z1 Compact and the Z Ultra are excluded in this list ,Although this can change later on , the Xperia Z1 series is quite capable in running Android 6.0 as all three devices have Snapdragon 800 Processors and 2GB Ram . The Xperia Z series however has probably hit its end of life as the Tablet Z , Xperia Z , Xperia ZR and Xperia ZL has Snapdragon S4 processors which are no longer in service , the last updates the Xperia Z series received was Android 5.1.1 and this might probably be its last . Sony has a impressive track record of keeping their old flagships up-to date , although the update process takes a bit longer than some , the updates still arrive even after the device has passed its 18 month update cycle .The flagship Xperia Z series - a Snapdragon S4 powered device with Android 4.2 was launched in the first half of 2013 and so far it has migrated to Android 5.0.2 this year , but now Sony is offering Android 5.1.1 for the handset as well as Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR handsets and the Xperia Tablet Z starting today . Sony has a good track record for keeping its Flagships updated even after old models are past their due date , although updates are not the fastest , Sony's track record is now going to get further reputation as the company has plans to dish out Android 5.1 to users starting next month . The 5.1 Update is a evolution of Android 5.0.2 with major improvements in power saving and memory fixes . Nvidia's Shield console originally came with 16GB for a price of $199 . Although a Android TV console rarely goes beyond this storage capacity , existence of a 500GB Nvidia shield console leaked out on Amazon last week , and in a swift move , all traces were pulled down . Today news of the console has come back in the form of a acknowledgement by Nvidia employee ManuelG . Google's Nexus devices have a front row seat when it comes to Android updates , the new Motorola Nexus 6 is probably the first in line , but as with Googles update policy , older hardware will get some of the sweet new software to taste soon after , but sometimes that sweet software can lead to painful problems as some Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 owners have found out the hard way . The new update , which is the version  issued to Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 5 devices are supposedly affecting some units in a bad way by bricking them , the NExus 7 is said to be the hardest hit , some of the many bricked units suddenly turn off and when powered back on the display doesn't progress beyond the boot logo , the bug supposedly affects all versions of the Nexus 7 and it doesnt matter where the tablet was rooted or not . No , this is not a April fool's joke , the Sony Xperia Z , the first smartphone under the Xperia Z category is stated to get Android 5.0 Lollipop . Although Sony didnt set a time frame (as their update for current models are already way past their date) the phone will get this update and it might possibly be its last as most manufacturers end support in 18 months . The Android 5.0 lollipop update for current Sony devices are currently available for some European Xperia Z3's and Z2's and a full roll out for both devices is expected to hit next week , the update which includes a few 2014 non Z series devices including the C3 and T2 ultra are also said to get the update. the older Z1 and the ZU are stated to get it later on .The Xperia Z , (and possibly the Z tablet ) will get the 5.0 update after the successors get the update , but Xperia Z's spin offs including the ZR and the ZL might be left out . OnePlus - a company that made headlines last year with its OnePlus One handset is now announcing plans to dish out Android 5.0 to their handsets . After Cyanogenmod's OnePlus betrayal , the small startup company decided to go on its own path of releasing a custom ROM for the OnePlus One ,after many months of work , the company is finally announcing details about their upcoming Oxygen Os  . According to OnePlus , the Oxygen OS Rom is said to be unique to the OnePlus One , created by the newly announced OnePlus OxygenOSTeam  , the ROM is said to be based on Android 5.0.2 initially ,but a 5.1 based version is possibly down the pipe as well .
