Some Google Play edition smartphones and tablets meet the axe

Google Play devices wern't successful as Google hoped them to be . The traditional handsets without custom interfaces were sold at original cost and the prices rarely dropped , and though it was technically a Nexus , the update schedule fell into the hands of the equipment manufacturer .The Google play edition phones however are still available , but some old models have been replaced as of today . The Sony Xperia ZU ,HTC One M7 and LG's GPad 8.3 are axed from Google's store while the 2013 Motorola Moto G google play edition is still kept alive . The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google play edition will be replaced by the S5 Google play edition once it arrives . The S5 GPE will join the ranks along side the HTC One M8 GPE and the Moto G in the Google Play store , but hopefully ,other OEM's will send their successors to the store once they are available Written by Rakitha for MasHD Article may be used in other blogs, but please be sure to link this article as a source GSMAre...

Samsung Galaxy S5 hits production delays , ISOCELL camera to be blamed

With the introduction of the Samsung ISOCELL camera module on the Galaxy S5 , The Korean giant hoped to end their dependency on outsourced camera modules . But unlike buying in bulk , the ISOCELL camera module is home made, but it is now blamed for the slowing down the production of the Galaxy S5 .The ISOCELL module's 6 plastic lenses were made thinner than the S4's 5 lenses , but in doing so , some of them produced defects and were causing problems , even still , the alignment of 6 lenses into the module are reported to be time consuming as well. The news might be bad for the S5 availability dates because the Korean company had a similar delay when one of their smartphone PCB factories caught fire 2 weeks ago . According to ETNews The ISOCELL camera production Yield is only around 20-30% which is not upto mark because Samsung hopes to launch the smartphone on the 11th of April . Source -  GSMArena

"Samsung will anounce the Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014" says company VP

With the flagship launch cycle about to start a new round, rumors surrounding Samsung's next flagship, the Galaxy S5, have intensified over the past several months. The most recent one comes by way of Samsung's VP and Head of Design Strategy, Dong-hoon Chang. While attending a New Year's party at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, South Korea, Chang answered reporter questions regarding the anticipated S5 flagship. He responded with "about right" in regards to a potential Galaxy S5 announced at MWC 2014, while also speculating about plans for a construction material (think: metal), and/or a possible variant that will feature a flexible display. Obviously, unofficial statements made by Samsung officials should be taken with a huge grain of salt, although several of the things Mr. Chang said are in line with some rumors we've heard about the Galaxy S5. Some sources have been speculating about a new premium Galaxy F line, to feature smartphones made of higher quality...

Rumor has it - Sony or Samsung's own camera division might provide cameras for the upcoming Galaxy S5

The Galaxy Note 3 might be what everyone currently on the market for a smartphone is interested in, but the Rumor mill is already getting busy with the the next Samsung flagship. According To ETNEws Sony and Samsung LSI are prepping themselves for a bidding war to become the main supplier of the camera, which according to sources is going to have a 16 MP sensor. Samsung LSI has that ISOCELL technology to give it an edge as well as optical image stabilization, but that's only available in a 13 MP module for now. There's also the fact that Samsung LSI is part of Samsung itself so it has better connections around the Mobile division. Still Sony has a reputation for its camera sensors used in point and shoots, DSLR and EVIL cameras and various smartphones, including the Galaxy S4. Next come some rumors about the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S5 from Joseilbo. They are very optimistic and, one would argue, slightly unrealistic. First concerning the CPU, which is said to be 64-bit o...

Samsung Galaxy S5 might include a eye scanning sensor

Hot on the heels on the rumors from the past week, another bit of information emerged, potentially shedding light on the specs of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5. Reportedly, the next generation of the popular smartphone will come with and eye-scanning sensor. The abovementioned feature will give users the opportunity to unlock their smartphone with their eyes. Samsung is allegedly already hard at work on the high-security bit of tech, though there’s no word on how it is going to work. Should the rumor pan out to be true, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature significantly higher-level security than the current crop of fingerprint sensor equipped device such as the iPhone 5s and the HTC One max. We do however, recommend that you take the news with a large grain of salt at this point in time. GSMArena

Samsung may be at their final steps in completing a 64 Bit processor for future smartphones

According to a reports by a Korean media outlet, Samsung is into the close to completion of a 64-bit mobile processor intended for use in its own smartphones. The report further speculates that the chip will be first used in the company’s next flagship. The chip will also be used for products beyond smartphones, such as tablets. It wouldn’t be at all surprising if Samsung were to use the 64-bit chip in its upcoming line-up of Chromebooks destined for 2014. Shortly after the unveil of the iPhone 5s, Samsung stated that it’s working on a 64-bit CPU, which will find its place in 2014 flagshps. Right now, though, they are still in the sampling stage. Smartphones are quick approaching the 4GB RAM barrier, at which point 64-bit CPUs become a necessity. Rumors are that Android 4.4 KitKat is slated to bring 64-bit support. There is also a probability Samsung unveils a flagship with 4GB of RAM next year, since the Note 3 already has 3GB.( GSMArena )

Samsung may ditch "Plastic" for future smartphones

The Samsung Galaxy lineup has taken the smartphone world by storm, but for the past two years the Koreans have been subjected to heavy criticism over their preference of plastic panels. If latest rumors are to be believed, though, this might change next year. According to the latest reports coming from Samsung's homeland, the manufacturer is planning on changing the Galaxies design and switch from plastic to metal. There were some earlier rumors about Samsung showing interest in carbon fiber too. The most likely candidates to replace the plastic are aluminum and magnesium. The new design and premium shells will premiere with the top of the line devices and then carry over to cheaper models. This means the new design language will probably debut with the Galaxy S5 next spring. It is also rumored that Samsung is already working on new designs and is testing new materials in its factories in South Korea, but also exporting some of the work to Vietnam. We hope those rumors turn o...

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 might not get OIS , 16 megapixel camera rumored for Galaxy S5

A new report coming from Korea reveals Samsung is working on a 16MP camera module with optical image stabilization. The new sensor is intended to be used in company's upcoming Galaxy flagships. Unfortunately Samsung's suppliers won't make enough sensors in time for the Galaxy Note III release. This means that the new camera will most probably premiere with the Galaxy S5 next year according to the report. Samsung already has a smartphone with a 16MP OIS camera - the Galaxy S4 Zoom - but it's a hybrid device with 10x optical zoom and therefore it's pretty huge. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note III next month in Berlin, so we'll know soon enough if those new sensors will make it to the phablet or not.
