The deadline for software support on Governmental and private computers will end next month as the Windows XP platform winds down after 13 years of service on the 8th of April (Next Month) . The move to widthdraw support for the platform was known to many ,but due to the slow process of upgrading computers the platform still runs on 10% of governmental computers many ATM and other business terminals which are now at risk of being hacked . Earlier this month we mentioned the CuBox-i series small form factor computers when they first surfaced. At the time we knew pretty much all the hardware details on the machines, but we didn’t know exactly how much they would cost or when they would be available. More details have surfaced this week and the computers can be pre-ordered right now. The CuBox-i series includes the i1, i2, i2ultra, and i4pro computers. All versions are based on the Freescale i.MX6 SoC and are available in a variety of configurations. Last night, the device’s inventor, Doug Engelbart, passed away at the age of 88 in his sleep. The information came from Engelbart’s daughter, who reported his passing in an email to the Computer History Museum located in California, the same state where the inventor worked at a research institute on a variety of other technologies used in modern times, including early forms of word processors, video teleconferencing, and email. Apple has revealed its new Mac Pro, the much-anticipated refresh of its professional-grade workstation, and it’s quite the departure from the old machine. Gone is the meaty aluminum tower, replaced by a compact, glossy black cylinder just 1/8th the volume of its predecessor. That doesn’t mean it’s slow, however: in fact, the new Mac Pro is set to be the fastest Mac ever. Inside, there’s Intel’s new 12-core, 256-bit Xeon processor keeping things moving. ASUS cannot get enough of Computex, and today its PC gaming arm is rolling out some high powered new kit. This is the Poseidon Formula 1, housing the apex of ROG's gaming hardware know-how and brandishing its new Poseidon GTX 700 series GPU. It pairs NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 700 graphics series with a hybrid cooling system, with ASUS' CoolTech combing blower and axial fans into one design, forcing air over the heatsink in multiple directions. Intel's Iris graphics are going to provide a 2x improvement to 3D performance over Intel's current HD 3000, and HD 4000 that are wrapped into Ivy Bridge cores. Basically, games that would crawl, stutter, or not run at all on older boxes (like your Call of Dutys and Bioshock Infinites) are going to be up for grabs once ultrabooks with Haswell start rolling out.
