Microsoft will not update all Lumia's to Windows 10 mobile , Windows 7 and 8/8.1 support to be extended

Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system recieved a lot of flak over the past few months for being too pushy .This however has not stopped its adoption rate and many coroprate firms are already shifting to the new operating system , But as with the case when Windows 8 came along , many users still prefered the older Windows 7 operating system  as it was the most stable operating system so far , this has however reduced the number of users who want to upgrade and therefore Microsoft made a unpopular move by stating that Windows 7 and 8 support on Skylake processors winn end in July of 2017 . This move however brought in negative press and therefore Microsoft has now stated that they will support Windows 7 , 8 and 8.1 through 2017 upto 2018 . This is said to give ample time for users to shift to Windows 10 if you want to use the next gen skylake processors . The move however does mean that people who want to skip Microsofts forced important updates or alleged spyware would probably ...

MWC 2016 - HP Elite X3

HP has unveiled a flagship spec Windows 10 Mobile smartphone at MWC 2016 .The phone , like its Lumia 950 counterparts , runs Windows 10 Mobile with Continuum and to do this , you need to have a specialized dock to complete the whole Windows 10 experience .Unlike the somewhat "old" lumia handsets , this has a top of the line Snapdragon 820 under the hood and this is complemented by 4GB of RAM - a spec sheet matched only by the Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 to date . Display on the phone is set at 6" -and it has a 2K resolution .The phone has 64GB of Storage out of the box and it comes with MicroSD expansion as well . The cameras on the unit include a 16mp rear sensor and a 8mp front sensor which is paired with a iris scanner for Windows hello . The phone has a beefy 4150 mAh battery , 4G LTE , B&O audio and a splash resistance coating . Microsoft anounces a beautifully crafted but underpowered Lumia 650

Microsoft has anounced a new budget smartphone running Windows 10 mobile .The new phone - named Lumia 650 is a beautifully designed smartphone packed with some questionable specs .The phone , designed with a aluminuim frame brings more class than the flagship 9xx series and unlike the boring flagships , this phone also has a amoled display -with clear black technology , this enables colors to pop and blacks to remain pitch black .the rest of the specs include a 8mp rear camera and a 5mp fromt camera .Priced at a somewhat affordable $200 price ,the phone is a bit of a bargain but considering that rival Android devices such as the Honor 5X offer better specs this phone is a bit underwhelming considering that it only has a Snapdragon 212 Soc , although it is faster than the low end s200 soc , it is still slower than the s400 unit (slower gpu performance) found in a bulk of handsets and even microsofts predecessor - Lumia 630/640 .The phone however does feature 1GB of ram but its doesnt...

With Microsoft working hard to promote its Windows Phone platform , cutting corners and making phones accessible to the low end market is probably the best option they have on the table right now , With the announcement of the Lumia 520 , things looked good for the platform , but now its about to get a whole lot better thanks to the announcement of the new Lumia 430 . The Lumia 430 - which sits below the already cheap Lumia 5xx platform is priced at $70 off contract , the internals of the phone remind us of the Lumia 520 as this model is also equipped with the same 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 200 Soc , but unlike the old model - this has 1GB of ram - making it eligible for the upcoming Windows (phone) 10 update . The rest of the phone is basically a mix of old parts and new ones , for starters , we have a 2MP fixed focus camera and a VGA front facing one for skype , the 4" display also has a low resolution of 480x800 - which by all means is still great for the price . You get 8GB of in...

CES 2015 - Alcatel Onetouch Pixi

Alcatel has a long history of launching a plethora of devices at the two main trade shows - CES and MWC . This year , the portfolio is a little bit shorter than previous years but surprisingly Alcatel has managed to grab some attention due to the launch of a new Smartwatch which , at $149 is quite a steal and a new line of affordable 4G capable smartphones that run three mobile operating systems with no change to hardware or price The new Pixi 3 series is Alcatel's latest attempt at launching affordable handsets , the phones are said to be OS -agnostic - which basically means the hardware has no speciality operating system . The phone series comes in 3.5" , 4.0" ,4.5" and 5.0" and the phone's have identical hardware which means production and research cost is quite less . Windows Phone 8.1 , Android 4.4 and Firefox OS are the three selected operating systems for the Pixi series .The 3.5" model however is restricted to 3G but the models with 4.0...

HTC 8S will not recieve Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 , 8X will

Nokia pretty much owns Windows Phone to itself , but a small segment of the marketshare is still owned by companies like HTC ,although the famous Android OEM is set in launching a HTC One M8 version with Windows phone on the 19th of August , the company didn't take any interest in replacing the 2 year old HTC 8X and the 8S previously . The company , as Microsoft prescribed , are bound to the contract of dishing out updates for atleast 3 years regardless of the handset , the contract however is not a full-proof measure as HTC decided to drop support for its 8S handset due to its low hardware specifications . The 8s , which was launched as a direct rival to Nokia's Lumia 620 was quickly overshadowed by the competition as it lacked some features and had a higher price compared to Nokia's handsets . Meanwhile the HTC 8 X is scheduled to receive WindowsPhone 8.1 in the near future (exact dates not mentioned) Written by Rakitha for MasHD Source - GSMArena

Nokia's Lumia 520 has 12 million units sold , still holds the title as the best selling WindowsPhone to date

Nokia/Microsoft landed a perfect hit with the Lumia 520 last year , the affordable phone , which retailed for about $110 in most developing countries proved to be a the "great push" for Windows Phone , which was virtually still at that time . With 12 million units sold , the Lumia 520 , and its US variant - The Lumia 521  made up 30% of all Windows Phone devices sold to date . The phone however has been since replaced by the Lumia 525 and both devices will meet the Axe once the upcoming Lumia 530 is introduced , overall ,Microsoft/Nokia's stratergy of launching affordable Windows Phone handsets payed off , and hopefully , it will keep working in the future  in order to push the platform beyond its stagnant  4% global market share . Kairos smartwatch hopes to bring moving parts and technology together

Kairos is not a household name when it comes to watches , but they are trying to turn that around by introducing a hybrid smartwatch that incorporates mechanical movements and a transparent Display which only turns on when a notification appears . smartwatches have always been a bit dull when it comes to designs , most of them are nothing more than small glass squares with some metal accents here and there , but Motorola did have a winner with their Moto 360 , but now it looks like they too can learn something from Kairos . The design is still at concept level - like the Moto 360 and the company expects you to wait until it is official , if it goes as planned ,company hopes to introduce 4 smartwatches with the basic model costing $499 and the top of the range model costing $1199 . The Kairos watch movements sit beneath a transparent OLED display , which is said to be powered by a internal battery that lasts for 5-7 days , the internal processor , battery and other equipment are pla...

image via - VRzone Wedding bells are set to ring on the 25th o April as Microsoft and Nokia unite in techno-matrimony . The move by Microsoft to acquire the Nokia devices and services was planned for a very long time , but the average customer didn't realize any difference in the Nokia brand name . But now , the final move is set to rename the once iconic phone manufacturer from Nokia Corporation to Microsoft Mobile OY which means that the household name will cease to exist as "Nokia" from the 25th .The move will give Microsoft access to both the smartphoneand featurephone divisions and factories of Nokia and its forums and official website . The Nokiabrandname is expected to be replaced by Microsoft Mobile , but the "Lumia" trademark is said to continue even as the company goes to Redmond . As time goes on the Android based Nokia X series and top tier ASHA phones will eventually get replaced by cheaper Windows Phone alternatives . Sources -  TechCrunc...

GTA San Andreas (for mobile) review

“2004 called , it want’s its game back ” this was my first reaction when i downloaded and opened the brand new GTA San Andreas app for iOS (coming soon to Android and Windows Phone) for the first time , The game is the third GTA game for mobile devices after GTA 3 and the all time favourite GTA Vice City .The $6.99 game will hopefully bring back some old memories to veteran GTA players who might find the plot very familiar ,but sadly the stock thumb controls and the cheap explosions makes the game look a little dull ,To be honest i also found the game a bit too large for a mobile device but that is mainly due to the complexity of the maps and details in the game but still , the 1.7GB game will need atleast more than 2.5GB+ of free space to download without getting a failed to download error , but hey , you can still brag about playing a former console/PC game on your mobile device now and that alone is enough for most gadget addicts Plot ,Gameplay and Controls If you played...
