Xperia Pro - I - Sony's Pro Phone

Sony has gone big with its new Xperia Pro - I , the phone, equipped with a 1" sensor is currently one of the largest smartphone sensors around and thus it can practically compete against pretty much any smartphone or compact camera around. The phone, based of a familiar Xperia design philosophy, has a no notch - 6.5" 3840x1664 OLED display with HDR10 and 120 hz refresh rate, the front - protected by a sheet of Gorilla glass victus - also houses a 8MP front camera with Gyro-EIS. The rest of the design features a utilitarian inspired side engraving and it also incorporates a 3.5mm headphone jack, a customizable button for any function and a shutter release button harking back to the days of old.The chassis also has a lanyard strap on the bottom size and it also has IP68 ingress protection. Sony Xperia 10 III Lite Announced

Sony has announced a more pocket friendly version of their Xperia 10 III for the Japanese market. The new Xperia 10 III Lite brings a host of pastel colors - Sony's excellent IP65/68 ingress protection and a 6" OLED display with 2520x1080 resolution. The internals of the Sony Xperia 10 III Lite include a Snapdragon 690 Soc with 5G, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS storage (Around half of the larger model) - you still do get a MicroSD card slot so there is not much to worry here.  On the camera side, the phone packs a 12MP wide sensor with PDAF, a 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 8MP telephoto with 2X optical zoom. The front of the device features a 8mp camera which sits inside the top bezel - a rarity these days. Other specs include a 3.5mm headphone jack, side mounted fingerprint sensor a 4500 mAh battery with 30w fast charge and Nano and E-Sim for dual usage. Sony Xperia 1 III goes on pre order

Sony is finally setting up the Xperia 1 III for preorder (in the U.S). The device, announced back in April - basically has all your Android flagship specs covered along and more. Pricing for the device starts at $1299 on Sony's website and is slightly cheaper on sites such as B&H and other retailers and for that you get Sony's WF-1000XM3 Wireless earbuds worth $230 and Call of Duty Mobile credits (43200 CP) worth $540.  Keep in mind that the handset is said to retail on the 19th of August and therefore pre-ordering is probably the best way to guarantee that your handset will be delivered asap. The specs of the handset include a Snapdragon 888 Soc, 12GB RAM with 256GB/512GB storage with an SD card option and a gorgeous 4K resolution 120hz OLED panel at 6.5" and an awesome 12MP main, 12 MP ultra wide and a variable zoom 12MP telephoto with optical zoom of 70-105mm equivalence and a TOF camera and a 8mp front sensor. Sony Xperia Ace 2 leaks out

Sony is said to announce an "affordable" small screen smartphone to its Xperia lineup. The device - named Xperia Ace 2, is said to be powered by a Mediatek Helio MT6765 chipset and consist of 4GB of RAM. The base storage is said to be 64GB and the display is also rumored to be in the 5" range with a somewhat low 1496x720 resolution. The phone is said to to be available as an affordable - non 5G smartphone for Japanese carriers (possibly not outside Japan) and is expected to retail for around JPY 48600. Source - GSMarena - 

Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 compact announced

Sony has officially launched their latest flagship duo for 2018 - Xperia XZ2 and the Xperia XZ Compact . The two phones , which are said to take “the best of Sony” ,feature an all new design aesthetic and thus departs from Sony’s blocky designs which were first seen on the original Xperia Z from 2011 , the new designs, which has a somewhat of a HTC U11 vibe to it ,features a curved back , thinner bezels and no headphone jack (hmm) . Xperia XA2 , XA2 Ultra and L2 unveiled

The Xperia XA2 , XA2 ULTRA and the L2 sit below their XZ series brethren ,but new spec upgrades make these mid rangers easily capable of taking on phones of their same class . Sony has officially unveiled their new flagship for mid 2017 . The new XZ1 and the XZ1 compact  and the well spec'd Xperia XA1 Plus mid range models bring the latest enhancements from Sony and Android OREO (Android 8) out of the box . Sony to announce new flagship spec smartphones at IFA 2017

Sony has so far built up a solid smartphone portfolio since the arrival of the Xperia Z in 2013 . The new phones , which still continue on the same DNA of waterproof candybar designs has so far evolved into 8 generations(Z ,Z1,Z2,Z3,Z4,Z5,XZ,XZ,XZpremuim and XZs) and is apparently set to be succeeded by the next generation of Sony Smartphones which will be unveiled at IFA 2017 . The rumored phones ,Named - Xperia ZX1 (series) are said to feature 4.6" display and a 5.2" display and a larger edge to edge 6" display will be launched along with some of the latest Snapdragon 835 and 660 series processors . The 4.6" version , which is said to be the successor the Xperia compact lineup (Xperia ZX1 compact?) is said to have a Snapdragon 835 Soc and 4GB of ram , the camera information is not revealed yet , but we guess they will include the 19MP unit from the Xperia XZs which captures 960fps slow motion , if not they will include the 20MP unit from the previous generatio...

Confirmed : Sony to retire the Xperia Z lineup

Sony  - once a dominant force in the mobile space played as the arch nemesis to Nokia back in its heyday ,but once the Sony Ericsson venture collapsed , Sony had difficulty in keeping up with the Jones as their random smartphones were either late in the spec war , or overpriced . With competition getting stiff , Sony could no longer waste money on making Random smartphones with outdated specs , and therefore Sony decided to launch a new flagship series called the Xperia Z . Xperia Z The Original Xperia Z was a first for Sony , it offered water resistance , a premium design with glass and metal and specs that rivaled other handset makers .Up to this point Sony phones were regarded as late for the party , but with the Xperia Z , the tables turned and Sony had a proper recipe in its hands . Xperia Z5 - Now available in pink

Sony has officially anounced a pink variant of their flagship Z5 smartphone , described as being a color of sophistication , this pink variant is set to adress the new pink smartphone craze that is going about right now . The phone , apart from the colored frame and the pinketta back works and functions just like any other Z5 smartphone out of the box so dont expect some special goodies in the retail pack . The Xperia Z5 is the second member of the Xperia Z5 Family , the phone has a Snapdragon 810 soc , 3gb of ram and a all new 23mp rear camera that is said to be one of the best on the market .Pricing details are not available , but we recon the pinketta edition will run for the same price as any other Z5 . Devices scheduled to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow gets listed .

Sony has announced its plans for Android 6.0 Marshmallow . The list of devices scheduled to receive the update are as follows . Xperia C4 Xperia C5 Ultra Xperia M4 Aqua Xperia M5 Xperia Z2 Xperia Z2 Tablet Xperia Z3 Xperia Z3 Compact Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Xperia Z3+ Xperia Z4 Tablet Xperia Z5 Compact Xperia Z5 Premium Xperia Z5 Strangely , the Xperia Z1 , the Z1 Compact and the Z Ultra are excluded in this list ,Although this can change later on , the Xperia Z1 series is quite capable in running Android 6.0 as all three devices have Snapdragon 800 Processors and 2GB Ram . The Xperia Z series however has probably hit its end of life as the Tablet Z , Xperia Z , Xperia ZR and Xperia ZL has Snapdragon S4 processors which are no longer in service , the last updates the Xperia Z series received was Android 5.1.1 and this might probably be its last . Sony Xperia Z ,ZR ,ZL and Tablet Z receive Android 5.1.1

Sony has a impressive track record of keeping their old flagships up-to date , although the update process takes a bit longer than some , the updates still arrive even after the device has passed its 18 month update cycle .The flagship Xperia Z series - a Snapdragon S4 powered device with Android 4.2 was launched in the first half of 2013 and so far it has migrated to Android 5.0.2 this year , but now Sony is offering Android 5.1.1 for the handset as well as Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR handsets and the Xperia Tablet Z starting today . The devices receiving the update are - the Xperia Z (C6602, C6603 variants), Xperia ZL (C6503, C6506 variants), Xperia ZR (C5503 only) and Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi (SGP311, SGP312) and Xperia Tablet Z LTE models (SGP321 only) .
