Its here folks , say hello to the new HTC One M8 .The M8 ,launched today in two simultaneous events in London and New York was probably one of the most leaked smartphones of all time .Anyone who was into tech during the past two months would have seen the device leaked in the form of pictures, renders and even videos , but now the smartphone is official and it sure looks very pretty . At a glance , the HTC One M8 looks a bit like a curved version of its predecessor , the HTC One , and this is true because most of the design elements have not changed , but instead they are better polished .Measuring in at 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35 mm and 160g, The new One M8's rear chassis is now 90% metal , compared to the 70% of the old "One" . The metal in the new chassis now has a brushed steel look (Only the Gunmetal Grey version has this) and it certainly adds more primness to device . With the highly anticipated HTC One (M8) is only a few hours away from its official launch ,the older flagships of the last year look on as they slowly disappear from the front pages . But as HTC promised , the phones that came out in 2013 will be supported for 2 years worth of updates , and according to a latest leak , the HTC One M7, One max , One Mini and the Butterfly S will recieve the Android 4.4.2 +Sense 6 update during June and July of this year . Sadly due to lack of support from the chip provider Nvidia , updates for the 2012 flagship phones - the HTC One X and the X+ has been canceled ,and this will surely leave a few remaining One X owners(including myself) feeling a little down ,but fear not because you can always install a 3rd party rom after a good rooting process . With less than a day for its official debut , the HTC One M8 (HTC's flagship phone for 2014) has reportedly smoked all of its competition on the Basemark OS2 and the graphic intensive Basemark X benchmarks today .The phone however has managed to pick out a comfortable 7th position in Browsermark web browsing testing but overall the Snapdragon 801 powered smartphone is surely a killer device for this year . The HTC One 2014 was leaked a dozen times by professional and N00b leakers alike and this has however has brought some positive and curious attention to the device which is set to launch with dual cameras .
