HTC has anounced their flagship smartphone for the year 2017 . The new phone , which technically sits as a successor to the HTC 10 and the HTC U ultra launched a few months back . The phone builds on (most of) the shortcomings on the U ultra and is poised to take HTC forwards just as the HTC 10 and A9 did in the previous 2 years . Design If you have seen the HTC U ultra , then this phone is probably a bit of a Deja Vu as they both share a similar platform . The phone , designed with flowing edges and a more rounded chassis will probably be more hand friendly ,but like the U Ultra this still does carry that Gorilla glass equipped glass backing(with a 3D effect) so keep your cleaning cloths handy . HTC's new phablet is here , say hello to the new HTC U - a phablet that is set to replace the "Butterfly" series of the past with a all new design  , specs you all want except for a 3.5mm headphone jack . The new HTC U brings a new change to the Taiwanese tech company as it now focuses on a smaller -more streamline lineup which aims to offset the problems caused by the clutter of devices from a few years back . HTC has officially announced the One E9+ at its special event in Beijing , the phone , launched along side the China only HTC One M9+ is the second Mediatek based smartphone launched at its event . The Phone , which is somewhat of a successor to the One E8 of last year continues the tradition of a polycarbonate build in favor of a metal unibody . The phone , unlike its M9+ cousin features the latest and greatest Mediatek chip to date - the Mediatek MT6795M - this chip is a octacore processor featuring 8 Cortex A57 cores which might rival the Snapdragon 810 found on HTC's flagship model - the One M9  . Although HTC made a decent Nexus tablet , the company is still behind in producing a one with some "Sense" on it , but all that is about to end as HTC prepares to introduce one this year . HTC's upcoming flagship - AKA HTC Hima is said to go live in the first quarter of next year .The phone is said to have the latest high end specs such as a 64bit processor , improved cameras and of course - a aluminum unibody . Yesterday , HTC launched its latest Verizon only Windows Phone device based on the successful Android handset by the same name , The HTC One M8 (for Windows) is basically the same handset as its Android counterpart, except for the Operating system . The phone , which comes with a 2.3Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor , 2GB of RAM , 16GB of onboard storage with external MicroSD card support and HTC's Ultrapixel setup which consists of 2 4MP units to give depth perception and a 5" 1080p display which has onscreen Windows Phone buttons makes the One M8 for windows  the most powerful Windows phone handset to date . The HTC One M8 is one of the most anticipated devices of this year , the device was put on sale right after launch unlike its competitors and this has now caused a few issues in supply of the device because , according to the latest reports from Taiwan ,the demand for the M8 has overwhelmed the supply of the device . The Taiwanese(Asia specific)HTC M8 has a 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor rather than the 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor used in the European and American versions of the same phone. Gartner has released its report on mobile phone sales in the third quarter of the year and it shows smartphones continue to outsell featurephones for second quarter in a row. On a global scale, smartphones sales reached 250.2 million, taking up 55% of all cell phone sales. That's a 45.8% increase over the same quarter last year. Overall, phone sales totaled 455.6 million units, which is also higher than Q3 2012 albeit only by 5.7%. According to Gartner, the region that saw most of the rise for both smartphones and feature phones is Asia/Pacific. There, the smartphone segment grew by 77.3% on a yearly basis, while featurephones marked an increase of 11.9%. The other notable regions that saw a rise in sales of smartphones were Western Europe, North America and South America. As far as phone manufacturers are concerned, the only notable change from the previous quarter is the rise of Lenovo to the third spot. According to a report in The Financial Times, HTC and Amazon are working together on an upcoming smartphone. The article goes further to point that there are three different devices in the works, with one of them being in advanced stage of development. Amazon has not responded to requests for comment on the report, though it stated that it has “no plans to offer a phone this year”. HTC’s chief of marketing Ben Ho also declined to comment on the Amazon partnership, but said that the manufacture is “always exploring new opportunities”.
