Some Google Play edition smartphones and tablets meet the axe

Google Play devices wern't successful as Google hoped them to be . The traditional handsets without custom interfaces were sold at original cost and the prices rarely dropped , and though it was technically a Nexus , the update schedule fell into the hands of the equipment manufacturer .The Google play edition phones however are still available , but some old models have been replaced as of today . The Sony Xperia ZU ,HTC One M7 and LG's GPad 8.3 are axed from Google's store while the 2013 Motorola Moto G google play edition is still kept alive . The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google play edition will be replaced by the S5 Google play edition once it arrives . The S5 GPE will join the ranks along side the HTC One M8 GPE and the Moto G in the Google Play store , but hopefully ,other OEM's will send their successors to the store once they are available Written by Rakitha for MasHD Article may be used in other blogs, but please be sure to link this article as a source GSMAre...

Monster's M7 tablet brings Swag to Android

Earlier this week, Monster took the wraps off their very own tablet line, the 7-inch M7. Yes, Monster – as in the folks that charge around 50x more for their HDMI cables then they are actually worth. So does that mean the M7 will be equally overpriced? Actually, not so much. The $150 M7 probably is actually pretty cheap, though its specs won’t exactly blow anyone away. The tablet features a 1.6GHz processor, 1280 x 800 display, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Not surprisingly, Monster also throws in a PowerControl app designed for controlling compatible Monster accessories. There are also a few small tweaks to the Android UI, but overall this is a pretty ‘typical’ low-end budget tablet. The Monster M7 takes a page out of Nokia’s book (and now Apple’s apparently..) by providing tons of colors, 8 in all. The company also boasts that their tablets feature a “non-skid” surface. The M7 is certainly an odd move for Monster, which is known for its high-priced acc...

HTC One "Google Edition" with vanilla android will be available on the 26th of June for $599

Speaking to Walt Mossberg at D11 this morning, Google's Sundar Pichai offered glorious news for anyone who loves the HTC One but craves an untouched Android experience: he confirmed that there is indeed a stock Android 4.2.2 version of the flagship device One coming, and it will be fully unlocked for T-Mobile and AT&T at the solid price of $599. It'll go on sale in the Google Play Store on June 26th, the same date as its $649 counterpart, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 stock edition. The new version of the device -- which will be sold in the US initially -- will come SIM-unlocked, with an unlocked bootloader and 32GB storage. In terms of radios, it will offer quadband LTE (700/850/AWS/1900), triband HSPA+ (850/1900/2100) and the usual quadband GSM / EDGE. Of course, going with a pure Android device. The HDC One copies the HTC One in design - Quietly copying

Talk about commitment to a cause. Not a noble cause, but still. You have to give it up for the makers of the latest Chinese clone, which doesn’t only replicate the original’s design, but also its name. Almost to the letter. The gadget pictured above is the HDC One, a pretty good knock-off of one of the hottest Android smartphones around – the HTC One. The funny thing is HDC doesn’t only make HTC lookalikes, but also clones for Samsung devices, so it’s almost like this is nothing more than an unfortunate name coincidence. HDC One’s design is no coincidence though and the thing looks a lot closer to its inspiration than the first One clone that emerged back in February – the GooPhone One . We highly doubt HDC can afford to use aluminum for the clone’s frame, but the “plastic unibody” could fool anyone into thinking this is the real deal. Naturally, once you’ll get your hands on the HDC One, you’ll be able to tell the difference, especially performance-wise. The copycat only pack...

HTC One gets quartered at iFixit - tough nut to crack

If you were looking for the HTC One to be a device you were easily able to take apart for inner-bits replacement, you might not be all that pleased with the report appearing today. On the other hand, if you love it when iFixit gives a big shout out to the device you’re looking to buy for its immense durability, the HTC One might be the phone for you. It’s not going to be a device you’ll be popping open on accident, that’s for sure. With the release of the HTC One, the manufacturer has bet a whole lot on the hardware as a proving point in their history. With this release, the company known as HTC says that they’ve done the best they’re able at the moment – this is the HTC One, and it’s named that for a reason. According to iFixit, this device is just about the most difficult smartphone to tear apart they’ve come across – but that’s not all bad news for you if you’re a general consumer. The HTC One does not have a removable battery, nor is it able to take a microSD card. It’s got...

HTC One availability schedule

After dealing with supply shortages , HTC has finally come forward with the availability schedule for the HTC One handset and according to the statement - the handset will go on sale in the UK ,rest of Europe and most Asian countries next week but   customers in the North American and Asia -Pacific regions will have to wait till the end of April to get their carrier based devices. Here’s the statement in full: “HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers’ patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait.” Although the delay is not a issue ,but the supply dates lie in the path of the Galaxy S4 - which is considered to be it's main riva...

HTC releases design sketches of the HTC one ....this is art

The HTC One is currently facing some production issues, forcing a delay of the handset’s launch until the end of the month. That’s not stopping HTC’s hype train, however. The company recently posted a few early design sketched of the device to their Google+ page. Yes, in case you haven’t heard, HTC loves the design of their latest flagship .( The HTC One preview is available in our magazine ,download it right here ) The images don’t tell us much, but they do offer an interesting glimpse into the long, arduous process of developing a smartphone. Designers must take into consideration materials, machining processes, ergonomics, and internal hardware when hashing out a final concept. It’s an art form highlighted even more by these neat behind-the-scenes sketches.

The HTC One Developer Edition features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, as well as 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. HTC one delayed until 29th of March

With the HTC One launch coming on quick and suggestions that the ultrapixel camera software has not been bumped up to its highest potential before launch, today’s announcement from Clove is not an especially welcome one. Straight from one of the more prevalent UK (and international) retailers for smartphones online, Clove has made it clear today that though the original launch date for the international edition of the HTC One was March the 15th, they will not be getting stock until the 29th of this month. This news appears to have no affect on the launch date for the USA, though no official date has yet been confirmed. This launch date has been pointed specifically at the UK, with no other launch dates affected – though the UK is indeed the only place this device would have been available on the 15th one way or another. Those of you trying for the HTC One internationally or inside the USA will have a bit longer to wait – unless you’re all about picking this machine up online from a...

HTC One even "beats " portable speakers in audio

HTC has alot of innovation under the three letter brand name , although most of the remarkable ingenuity is underrated due to poor marketing and the platform dominance of Samsung . Currently , the HTC One is treated as the Hero device for the year 2013 and to make it a hero device , the phone features a few neat tricks up its sleeve , The sound system - or "BoomSound" as HTC calls it is probably one of those key features that HTC likes to show off ( Download our magazine and read the HTC One preview ), the test , conducted by Znet has left the reviewer speechless because of the high quality sound the HTC One outputs through the front mounted dual speakers and from watching the Video , it seems as if portable speakers are not necessary if you own a HTC One

GooPhone launches another clone - GooPhone i5S

Apple is rumored to launch at least one new iPhone model later this year, with iPhone 5S being the logical name for one of them, a device that’s expected to be an iPhone 5 upgrade. But while the iPhone 5S is not even official yet, the GooPhone i5S, a Chinese Android knock off, is getting ready to sell for just $99. GooPhone doesn’t need any more introductions by now as, unfortunately, the company has ripped plenty of other products including them into its “Goo” line – and they’re not all Apple devices, as the lists includes copies of the iPhone 5, the iPad mini, the HTC One but also the Galaxy Note 2. The GooPhone i5S is similar to the iPhone 5 when it comes to design and user interface, although the device runs Android, even if it’s made to look like iOS. When it comes to hardware, the GooPhone i5S will offer you a 4-inch display, 1GHz dual-core MT6577 processor, 512MB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera and vanilla Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with an iOS skin on top. The first 1,000 buyer...

HTC to bring Ultrapixels and other features to mid range devices in the future

Looking at the spec sheet of the HTC One, you’ll come across some pretty peculiar marketing jargons, such as Blinkfeed, Ultrapixel, and Zoe. The first one refers to the new Flipboard-like homescreen on the flagship device, while the last two refer to HTC’s camera sensor and picture sharing features. The phone maker reCeently said that there’ll only be one One-branded device coming out this year, but it doesn’t mean that the accompanying features won’t be introduced on its future phones. Starting with Blinkfeed, HTC UK and Ireland director Phil Roberson reveals that the company is eager to bring the service to “as many products as possible.” Seeing that Blinkfeed is an integral part of Sense 5 UI, which we know will make its way to other HTC devices, this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Things are a little bit more challenging when it comes to the Ultrapixel technology, which is dependent on the hardware currently only found on the HTC One. However, you can still look...

HTC One to sell as TD 101 at China Mobile

HTC decided to invest in such a brand by launching the One series of smartphones last year, although the company was not able to impose its own product names to certain carriers. Then, just a few days ago, the company launched the HTC One, which is going to be the company’s only One-branded handset this year, a make-or-break kind of project for the Taiwanese Android maker that’s still having a tough time fighting against the competition, especially Samsung. We were under the impression that HTC will further invest in its One brand and not budge to carrier demands anymore when it comes to changing the name of the product – in the U.S., AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are going to sell it as the HTC One. But it looks like things aren’t necessarily so, and no, it’s not Verizon that’s going to get its way selling the One as the Droid DNA Plus, as it was recently rumored. We’re looking at China Mobile this time around, which has announced the HTC One as the HTC TD 101. That’s certa...
