Nintendo's Switch has received a mid-life overhaul thanks to the introduction of a new OLED display equipped model simply named the Nintendo Switch - OLED. The new model , which now packs a 7" OLED display features deeper blacks and better contrast than the standard Switch model which is still on sale for $300. The new model , equipped with more responsive Joy-Con control sticks pack IR and motion sensors and like the older model are detachable and could be used in multiple ways depending on the game.  The new model, which like its older cousin, still packs a Nvidia Tegra X1 SOC and it comes with improved speakers as well and packs the same 4.5-9hours playability in handheld mode or acts as a fixed console if connected to the new dock which now supports an LAN port as well. Nvidia has announced a new tablet with a focus on becoming more of a gaming console rather than  a standalone tablet .The tablet , named as JDX S192 is known as "Retro" and this is probably due to the fact that the internals are almost the same as the Nvidia K1 tablet .The retro tablet , armed with 2GB of RAM and a Quadcore  K1 Soc is somewhat old school in this day and age but the fact that it runs Android 4.2.2 Jellybean means that the device lives up to its Retro name indeed .The tablet features a 7" 1920x1080p IPS display , 32GB of storage and a massive 10,000 mAh battery along with a 13mp main snapper at the back .The tablet is said to go on sale starting May 6th for GBP 220 ($316). Nvidia has officially anounced its in car supercomputer called Nvidia Drive PX 2 . The system , designed to give self driving cars the next generational push it need is set up using Nvidias new Pascal gpu which boasts of 8 tflops - this power however comes from 2 pascal GPU cores and 2 ARM based Tegra cores .details about the two tegra cores are not listed , but all we can say is it is based on ARM's 64bit cortex A57 architecture and each of them are configured as a quadcore Soc . Nvidia's new Tegra X1 chip made headlines as being the first mobile chip to hit the 1 teraflop range . The processor - which uses a Big little architecture with Cortex A57 and Cortex A53 cores in a 4+4 configuration and 256 Maxwell GPU cores has enough power to close in on top tier consoles has now taken a score of 74,977 points on Antutu - a popular benchmark application .  The X1 chip is currently top dog as similar products like the Exynos 7420 on the upcoming Galaxy S6 only hit about 60,000 and therefore the X1 will probably be a powerhouse like the K1 chip of 2014 . Although devices packing the X1 chip will be limited , Nvidia - who also makes the "Shield" series of tablets will definitely include this chipset in their upcoming shield tablet which is rumored to be launched on the 3rd of March . Nvidia has alwaysbeen first in launching benchmark setting mobile processors for a long time ,and with another year over ,Nvidia has once again claimed the benchmark title to itself with the new Tegra X1 Syetem on a chip . This new Tegra chip is said to be the first "Octa-core" tegra processor from the company and according to preliminary benchmarks , the chip is also the first mobile processor to reach one Teraflop of floating point performance (which is close to most high end consoles like the Xbox One) - this number has been achieved thanks to 256 Maxwell GPU cores which is the same GPU architecture found in the new GTX980 series of graphics cards in high end gaming pc's .To put it into perspective  , the first supercomputer to break the teraflop barrier in 2000 (ASCI Red) needed 76 Pentuim Pro processors and a million watts to power it .Raw CPU power to the chip is provided by 8 64 bit cores comprising of 4+4 islands with 4 Cortex A57 cores with 2MB of L2 cache a...

The Nvidia Shield is probably one of the best Android tablets to date , the average pricing and exceptional performance thanks to Nvidia's Kepler powered K1 chipset and timely updates including Android 5.0 are just some of the good things about the $299 tablet .Being a Nvidia Tegra device , the Shield supports NvidiaTegraZone  - which is Nvidia's own game and app store for tegra devices . Games like Trine 2 and Half Life were pre installed in the device and now Half Life 2  Episode One is available for those  who own a Shield tablet . The App on its own costs $7.99 but if you happen to own a Shield tablet with LTE ($399) the game is available free for download . The app is 2.65GB and it is recommended you have a separate controller for moving around  . The game is sadly not available to users who own older Tegra devices powered by the Tegra 3 and Tegra 4 processors which include the Tegra Shield portable . Apple was quite silent about their A8X processor's specs when it was launched in the new Apple iPad Air 2 , at first we speculated that Apple used a dual core variant with Apples Motion processor package , but now as benchmark websites point out , the Apple A8X Soc is actually a 3 core unit which when coupled with the Air 2's 2GB RAM makes the tablet one of the new benchmark kings in town . The A8X and its PowerVR GX6450 GPU are currently top dogs at GeekBench with a score of 4477 at Multicore and 1812 at Single core performance  , which is a score that puts the new A8X away from the current Android top dog processors like the Tegra K1 which scored 3258 at Multicore and 1803 at Single core performance . Most of us thought the patent wars were over , but apparently Samsung has been taken to court once again over a infringement case which is filed by Nvidia this time . The ITC (U.S  International Trade commission)  , which governs and investigates such incidents is now probing the accusations set on the smartphone giant Samsung . Nvidia , which holds many patents in chip designing took on Samsung and it hopes to block many flagship products from entering the U.S market . The list of devices set to be included in the possible ban include - Samsung Galaxy S5 , S4 , Tab S , Tab 2 , Note 3 , Note 4 , Note Pro and Note Edge devices which run Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors and Samsung's own Exynos processors . The Nvidia Shield tablet is finally official , the tablet , which was leaked a few days prior to the official launch was almost 100% accurate in giving out the exact specs so the launch is a bit "meh" ,however it it , the Nvidia Shield tablet is nothing short in being awesome , the sound of having a Kepler GPU and a low price will surely make this another thing to have , if you are after a tablet which has the properties of the Shield console . The tablet at first looks a bit like a stretched out HTC One , this look mainly comes from the front facing speakers which are surely a plus if you want some quality audio that is not muffled when you place it on a table . As explained in the earlier post , Nvidia has been planning to launch a successor to the Tegra Note 7 this year , the tablet , dubbed the "Shield tablet" is the second Nvidia product under the name Shield and like the Shield console of last year , the tablet will have some top specs and live streaming abilities that will surely get any gamer's attention . The Shield tablet is set to be unveiled tomorrow (22 July) and it will go on sale on the 29th of July in the US and 14th of August in Europe . Nvidia launched their Tegra Note reference tablet last year , the tablet featured a stylus , front facing speakers , front and rear cameras and of course , Nvidia's flagship Tegra 4 processor , the tablet was sold at a bargain price of $199 and it was adopted as a reference design by HP,Evga ,Micromax and many other smaller OEM's who wanted a off the shelf product , to which they can add their name to . The tablet however didn't sell that many units , but Nvidia hopes that the introduction of their processors in Tablets will make the chipset popular among tablet manufacturers as they are the only capable mobile CPU maker that can take on the expansion of Qualcomm . Just after Nvidia showed off details about their new Tegra Erista mobile processor for 2015 , Audi -which has been a partner with Nvidia since 2012 , rolled a self driving car onto stage .The car , which uses a improved version of the Tegra K1 "Logan" mobile processor was used to demonstrate the processing power of the Nvidia chipset , while showing off Audi's own ingenuity .Previous self driving cars from Audi and other manufacturers used banks of computers where all were stacked in the trunk making the car look more like a experimental vehicle . The new system , using the K1 has a small side pocket where the mobile CPU and its motherboard are kept hidden from view .The K1 cpu however is custom tailored for Audi, but the chip's main  5 Core A15 cores design and the 192 Kepler GPU cores are kept unchanged . After the announcement of Nvidia's Tegra K1 , aka Logan at CES in January , the chip company didn't reveal any further details about their next mobile cpu. Along with the announcement of the Pascal GPU architecture ,Nvidia announced details about the next generation Tegra mobile processor codenamed Tegra Erista .If you are into comics , Erista is the Son of Logan , And Logan in Nvidia's case is the codename for Nvidia Tegra K1 ,The K1 was the first Tegra chip to feature the 192 Kepler GPU cores and was designed using the 64Bit ARMV8 architecture .Erista on the other hand also uses the ARMV8 64Bit design , but the Erista uses Nvidia's Maxwell GPU , the Maxwell GPU cores were announced in 2013 , but now it seems the GPU technology has shifted to mobile use . The Tegra Erista will support DirectX 12 and will also support Unreal Engine 4 for mobile . They just announced that they will be releasing the Tegra Note 7 LTE. The slate packs an i500 LTE chip, and a cellular radio that will be compatible with Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Orange, Vodafone, and O2 in Europe. Nvidia promises that the antenna will also support other “popular carriers across the world.” The Tegra Note 7 LTE won’t be hitting stores until Q2 2014, but it will be packing Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box when it makes its debut. If you own the WiFi only model of the tablet, you can go ahead and update it right now with the most recent OTA update. At E3 earlier this year, video game accessory maker Mad Catz unveiled its new entry into the world of consoles with the M.O.J.O., and the company has just announced that you'll be able to pick up the micro-console in a few months.
