GoPro Hero 11 Black and GoPro Hero 11 Black mini announced.

  GoPro has announced their latest iteration of their GoPro action cameras - the new Hero 11 and a new successor to the Session lineup - the GoPro Hero 11 mini. GoPro Hero 11 Black - This is basically the successor to last year's Hero 10 Black and like the Hero 10, it improves upon the new chassis design brought by the hero 10 and it features the collapsible action camera mount and color display. The camera sensor (1/1.9") resolution has been bumped up to 27MP and has a 8:7 aspect ratio (photos as well) with settings which allow it to shoot vertical - 9:16 videos for TikTok and 1:1 clips for instagram and the standard 16:9 resolution for everything else. The sensor is capable of shooting 10 bit 5.3K (60fps) and has auto stabilization including horizon lock as well as Hypersmooth 5.0 stabilization first introduced with the Hero 7. DJI Osmo Action 3 announced

  DJI has announced their latest action camera - the Osmo Action 3. The announcement, which falls directly ahead of the upcoming GoPro Hero 11 series, brings a 1/1.7  12MP sensor with a 155 degree lens and f2.8 aperture and shoots 4K 120 fps and 1080p at 240 fps in 16:9 and you can also use horizonsteady to keep footage level but this is cropped to 2.7k@60fps. Other features include rocksteady 3.0 for digital stabilization and there is a quick release style mount which allows the action camera to be placed horizontally or vertically for social media.  The camera is capable of operating in -20c upto 45c and can record upto 160 minutes continuously. The chassis is capable of surviving upto 16m under water without a case and if you plan to use it for vlogging, you can use a variety of accessories including mics with a USB C to 3.5mm attachment and supports fast charging. DJI Action 2

DJI has announced their latest Action Camera - the DJI Action 2. The camera, a departure from the Original DJI Action which went toe-to-to with GoPro cameras has now followed a modular philosophy (Kind of like the InstaOne360 series and the now dead GoPro Session series) and thus is sealed up basically making it more of a cube which you can easily mount to any surface or wear easily. The cube- which measures at 39x39x22.5mm weighs only 59g has only four noticeable features on the chassis - one is the camera - which is a 1/1.7" sensor with f2.8 aperture and a ultra wide 155 degree field of view. The sensor allows you to capture 12MP photos and it can record 4K at 120fps and has Rockstready 2.0 image stabilization and a horizon lock feature called "horizon steady". The camera does record 4K but you can record only to the internal 32GB of storage as MicroSD cards are only available once you attach an external modular cube. GoPro Hero 10 is official

GoPro's latest action camera is official. the new Hero 10, a successor to the 9 - brings some familiar features from the 9 - including the 5K video recording and the front display and improves upon features such as Hypersmooth 4.0 which offers internal stability for video and new image enhancements with the 23.6 MP sensor from the previous model. Powering the new Hero 10 is a Gopro GP2 processor, this allows 5.3K video 60fps recording and it has a mode which lets you capture 15.8MP stills from the 5.3K video which is an improvement over the outgoing model.  The other specs include improved SuperPhoto mode for the best in camera image processing and improved RAW photography. Other features include 4K at 120fps , 2.7K at 240 fps and due to the similarities between the 9 and 10 , batteries are interchangeable but at the cost of a slightly lower battery life. GoPro Hero - GoPro's most "affordable" action camera yet!

GoPro has officially announced the GoPro Hero 2018, the new model , designed to replace the Hero Session line of cameras, offer a Hero 5/6 chassis and an affordable $200 price tag. The camera, designed around a GoPro Hero 5 /6 chassis, offers water resistance out of the box with no added casing - a major selling point as no special accessories will be required to make it waterproof. The camera also features compatibility with existing GoPro Hero 5/6 accessories as well as the ability to use GoPro Hero 5 batteries -making the camera a great backup for someone who already owns a flagship GoPro camera . The rear features a touchscreen display and this is same as the one found on the flagship models. GoPro Hero 6 and GoPro Fusion 360 unveiled

The action camera market has seen a relative boom during the past few years . Although much of the success can be attributed to Chinese brands like Xiaomi's Yi,  SJcam  (and hundreds of GoPro knockoff brands ) . The main player is still GoPro and therefore their latest announcement is important not only from a company standpoint , but also as a major driving force in the industry . The Hero 6 improves on the Hero 5 in many areas,but the design and core functionality has not changed .Therefore the Hero6 is a faster Hero 5 with the major changes being The new 4K 60fps , the new quickstories function and the faster wifi plus GoPro's custom image processor .While these features are expected of a high end action camera ,the Hero6's success will mostly depend on how well the 4k/60fps holds up against the new wave of high end smartphones which can do just that . Sony RX0

Sony has officially announced their latest addition to the RX series of compact premium cameras .The RX0  (Zero) , like its more popular RX 100 series brethren , features a Stacked 1"  CMOS sensor , but it instead features a robust , drop (MIL STD810G)  and water resistant housing which allows the RX0 to be taken to places no other one inch sensor camera will dare explore . The RX0 , on the outside looks quite small at - 61×40.6×30.5mm , but internally , the RX0 is designed for set events rather than straight up action as it can be rigged wirelessly in a 15 camera group  via FA-WRC1M remote  or  5 via the Sony mobile App for Android or iOS . GoPro 6 to be unveiled soon.

GoPro has so far been the prime target of just about every action maker out there , with knock offs and unique action cameras which can run rings around the current GoPro 5 , the urge to up the ante has been felt heavily by the company .With rivals like the Xiaomi Yi action cameras pushing 4k@60fps , chances are that GoPro will include this in their next iteration - the GoPro 6 which has been leaked in a Chinese wifi certification sheet . The sheet , which can be found here , lists a GoPro product without much detail except for an entry date , this however does hint that the company is preparing to go big with their announcement soon . GoPro Fusion - 360 in 5.2K

GoPro has anounced their latest camera system called the GoPro Fusion - a 360 degree camera with 5.2K recording . The new device , aimed directly at the new 360 craze , positions itself to be a true 360 capable action/sports camera .the 5.2K at 30fps is currently in a development stage   but so far the demo video (you can scroll around the interactive video below) which was recorded off a Fusion does show that the stitching software has worked well . Shimano Japan has unveiled a new action camera aimed at cyclists who want more from their action camera . The CM 2000 model - Shimano's flagship action camera , sits above the CM 1000 model launched previously as it features 4K recording . The camera- designed to work as a companion -all in one system can record heart rate BPM data (via external arm strap) ,speed ,cadence and GPS data as well . Nikon Keymission 360 will be used at Trump inauguration

With change in the air ,President elect Donald J Trump is now all set to be declared as the 45th president of the United states . The camera - a successor to the Explorer 2 , boasts 4K video recording at 30fps , a water resistant shell which comes in a rough and tough design and orange accents and a 2" touchscreen display which puts it squarely against other more expensive rivals from Xiaomi and GoPro . LeEco - formerly known as LePhone has unveiled their first 4K action camera dubbed the Liveman C1 . The camera , designed in the typical camera + waterproof case design consists of a main camera body which shoots 4K at 30 fps . The camera , armed with a 16 MP sensor is fitted with a 140 degree Field of view lens , the camera also has a 1.9" TFT LCD display for viewing your videos or photos . Xiaomi's Yi 4K+ uses new 64bit SOC ,4k@60fps recording

Xiaomi's Yi lineup of cameras  recently made a huge splash in the Action camera market with the Yi 4k - A camera that costs cheaper than a entry level Go-Pro with specs that rival the top end Hero Black models .But in recent times GoPro finally realized this new threat from China and addressed accordingly with the launch of the Hero 5 series .But once again ,Xiaomi has upped the ante with the new Yi 4k+  - a carbon fiber based action camera that can shoot 4K @ 60fps  . Fujifilm has officially launched its very own extreme camera - the Finepix XP120 . The compact system - which is almost indestructible* packs a chassis which is shock-impact resistant ,dust,water(up to 20m IP68) ,temperature(-10c) and drop resistant up to 1.75m .Apart from the rough chassis , the camera packs a 1/2.3" 16.4mp BSI ,CMOS sensor with 5x optical zoom and a 28mm wide angle lens and there is also a 3"  920k dot LCD display at the back . Nikon has unveiled a new GoPro killing action camera called the Keymission 360 . The camera , designed to be taken on a helmet mount or just about anywhere is capable of 360 degree recording at 4K . The camera , like most action cameras  is water and shock /thermal resistant (100ft/ 30m water and 2m drops)  .The content shot on such a device can easily be available for viewing on VR headsets through a smartphone tethering via Wifi,Bluetooth NFC .
