MWC 2014 - Samsung's new Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo welcomes Tizen OS ,leaves the Galaxy trademark behind

Samsung Gear 2 Samsung has brought some big changes with the latest additions of its Gear smartwatch lineup. Not only will the new devices be thinner and lighter than the original, but will also feature a special wearable version of Samsung’s Tizen OS rather than Android. The new Samsung Gear 2 (no more Galaxy in the name as it’s no longer an Android device) comes with the same 1.63" Super AMOLED display of 320 x 320 screen resolution, but with a processor beefed up from a dual-core 800 MHz to 1GHz. The new gears bring a better set of health sensors including heart rate monitor, and an Infrared port for remote control of your home appliances. The internal storage and RAM remain limited like the last edition, and the battery has been downgraded to 300mAh (from 315mAh), which is a bit worrisome as battery life was one of the major drawbacks of the Galaxy Gear. Hopefully, Samsung has optimized Tizen OS to be more battery efficient than Android. Gear 2 Neo The new ...

Oppo Neo features mid range specs for $215

The Oppo Neo is built around a 4.5" IPS LCD display, which is extra sensitive and is capable of detecting touches even when you are wearing gloves. The screen packs a rather low resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 217ppi . This places the Oppo Neo straight up into the mid-range smartphone category, where it'll be providing backup for the Oppo R819. The Neo is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core CPU, but there's no information of the processor architecture, internal memory or RAM at this point. The Oppo Neo weighs just 130 grams and measures 132 x 65.8 x 9.2mm, which is pretty thin for the price range. It runs Oppo's ColorOS skin on top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. At the back, there's a 5MP snapper, while at the front, there's a 2MP camera for video chatting. Specifications of the main camera are missing at this point - we guess it's going to record up to 720p videos, but Oppo is yet to confirm or deny that. On the software side...

Neo N003 packs a 1080p display and a Quad-Core chipset for $144

Always wanted a Quad Core 1080p Phone? and want something below $200 ?  well a chinese company called Neo has the answer for that . The Neo N003 has all the horsepower to join the Quad Core arms race without looking like a N00B , the N003 has a 5" 1080p IPS display  and might possibly carry a Mediatek MTK6589 processor because most other budget handsets are powered by that chipset . although specs are not official , GizChina says the price will be 899 Yuan ($144) which currently makes the N003 the cheapest 1080p smartphone ( rival devices such as the iOcean X7 . cost $16 ($160 for the iOcean vs $144 for the N003) more but in a world where a few dollars make a differece , the N003 might have a slight edge , Both the iOcean and the N003 are probably China-Only phones so don't  have big hopes for the device(s) ever reaching Europe or North America .Specs are not given in detailed but i'll be sure to update the blog once the data flows in  .  Source -  Giz...
