Canon has officially announced their latest entry level full frame DSLR camera . The new model , based on the previous 6D is given the title - 6D Mk 2 in Canon's traditional naming scheme . Starting from the design , the new camera still uses a hybrid metal and polycarbonate frame and is apparently the lightest 35mm DSLR in Canon camera in production yet . The new camera also has a fully articulating touchscreen display a - la Canon 80D (but at 3") . The body is also weather resistant. Switching over to the internals , we can clearly see ( based on previously leaked info )that the new 6Dmk2 has major improvements over its predecessor from 2012 in the photography department . For starters ,the biggest complaint of the 6D was its AF (more like the lack of it) , but the new model has 45 all cross type AF points  and is also assisted by Canon's excellent PDAF - phase detection AF which brings very significant upgrades over the one it replaces , the megapixels have als...

via - Nokishita Camera Canon's full frame lineup has so far been a 3 tier system , at the top of the food chain , we have the 1DX's offspring - the elite race , below that , you have the general workhorse lineup - the 5D series , and if you go a bit down , you find the Canon 6D - a model that is popular among amateur wedding photogs and a second body option for those who own a 5D model . But like all entry level models , the 6D was slightly neutered when compared to the higher end models , and this , along with the fact that both Sony and Nikon have 2 camera models to fight in the same category does mean that the 6D remained on the short end of the stick when specs are compared , however , a camera is still a tool , and so far I have seen many people shoot excellent work with this camera( eventhough the autofocus is not the best ) ,so the next model will definitely be a "kickass" camera (even if it gets destroyed by angry mobs who would probably pick on this ...

via - the digital picture  A new set of rumors state that Canon is set to launch the successor to its 6D  in May of this year .The 6D , which is in a dire need for a successor was launched in 2012 and has so far brought in new recruits who wanted a cheaper Full frame alternative to the expensive 5D /and 1D models . The rumored camera , which is  is said to have a new 28 megapixel sensor with  Canon's excellent  Dual pixel AF system is probably a world ahead of the 6D in term of AF and overall quality . The Camera also brings a tilt screen display - a must have for all cameras , a new shell design with dual SD card slots , a new Digic 7 processor , a new almost 100% viewfinder  and possibly a excellent but now old 1080p@60fps (we are not completely sure about 4k as it would cannibalize the some of the 5D mk4 sales) . The upcoming camera is expected to cost about $2k body only ,but do take these rumors with a pinch of salt . source - thenewcamera
