Nvidia's Shield console originally came with 16GB for a price of $199 . Although a Android TV console rarely goes beyond this storage capacity , existence of a 500GB Nvidia shield console leaked out on Amazon last week , and in a swift move , all traces were pulled down . Today news of the console has come back in the form of a acknowledgement by Nvidia employee ManuelG . The console - which originally cost $199 will have a 500GB option for a $100 more and it is expected to go live this month (end of the month more like it) along with the Andorid 5.1 update for the Shield tablet . The Nvidia shield console is a Android TV console which comes with a 64bit Tegra X1 chipset , 3GB of RAM , Gigabit Ethernet,HDMI 2.0 ,Two USB 3.0 (Type A),Micro-USB 2.0,MicroSD slot,IR Receiver as well as Wifi and chromecast support . Nvidia is really stepping up its game in the mobile market , after launching the original Shield portable ,and  the successful Shield Tablet , Nvidia is now focusing on the console segment with their new Nvidia Shield - console . The set top box - which is said to pack Nvidia's latest and greatest mobile chipset - The Tegra X1 is said to run Android TV - a special version of Android made specifically for consoles .but unlike the Nexus player , the Shield console will focus on cloud gaming . Nvidia's new Tegra X1 chip made headlines as being the first mobile chip to hit the 1 teraflop range . The processor - which uses a Big little architecture with Cortex A57 and Cortex A53 cores in a 4+4 configuration and 256 Maxwell GPU cores has enough power to close in on top tier consoles has now taken a score of 74,977 points on Antutu - a popular benchmark application .  The X1 chip is currently top dog as similar products like the Exynos 7420 on the upcoming Galaxy S6 only hit about 60,000 and therefore the X1 will probably be a powerhouse like the K1 chip of 2014 . Although devices packing the X1 chip will be limited , Nvidia - who also makes the "Shield" series of tablets will definitely include this chipset in their upcoming shield tablet which is rumored to be launched on the 3rd of March . Five years in the making - that's what Nvidia says about its secret device which is set to be unveiled on the 3rd of March . Nvidia - a company that has recently stepped into making Android tablets is said to be working on a successor to the Shield Tablet launched last year.According to rumors , the new device is said to pack a 8 core Nvidia Tegra X1 processor which packs a power of one Teraflop and it is said to be one of the current top dog mobile processors to date ,Nvidia also stated that it will "redefine the future of gaming " a further hint that the device will be gaming oriented with possibly enhanced game streaming abilities over the K1 powered Shield tablet of 2014 . Nvidia shield Tablet is probably one of the best gaming oriented tablets this year , the Nvidia K1 powered beast is pretty much Nvidia's show-slate to promote the Tegra series of processors to the mass market with graphical prowess that matches some big named consoles in the past . The tablet , which cost $299 for the 16GB model wifi was selling quite well but as with most things Tegra , users started to question software support for the tablet but so far Nvidia hasn't turned them down . Apple was quite silent about their A8X processor's specs when it was launched in the new Apple iPad Air 2 , at first we speculated that Apple used a dual core variant with Apples Motion processor package , but now as benchmark websites point out , the Apple A8X Soc is actually a 3 core unit which when coupled with the Air 2's 2GB RAM makes the tablet one of the new benchmark kings in town . The A8X and its PowerVR GX6450 GPU are currently top dogs at GeekBench with a score of 4477 at Multicore and 1812 at Single core performance  , which is a score that puts the new A8X away from the current Android top dog processors like the Tegra K1 which scored 3258 at Multicore and 1803 at Single core performance . The Nvidia Shield tablet is finally official , the tablet , which was leaked a few days prior to the official launch was almost 100% accurate in giving out the exact specs so the launch is a bit "meh" ,however it it , the Nvidia Shield tablet is nothing short in being awesome , the sound of having a Kepler GPU and a low price will surely make this another thing to have , if you are after a tablet which has the properties of the Shield console . The tablet at first looks a bit like a stretched out HTC One , this look mainly comes from the front facing speakers which are surely a plus if you want some quality audio that is not muffled when you place it on a table . As explained in the earlier post , Nvidia has been planning to launch a successor to the Tegra Note 7 this year , the tablet , dubbed the "Shield tablet" is the second Nvidia product under the name Shield and like the Shield console of last year , the tablet will have some top specs and live streaming abilities that will surely get any gamer's attention . The Shield tablet is set to be unveiled tomorrow (22 July) and it will go on sale on the 29th of July in the US and 14th of August in Europe . Nvidia launched their Tegra Note reference tablet last year , the tablet featured a stylus , front facing speakers , front and rear cameras and of course , Nvidia's flagship Tegra 4 processor , the tablet was sold at a bargain price of $199 and it was adopted as a reference design by HP,Evga ,Micromax and many other smaller OEM's who wanted a off the shelf product , to which they can add their name to . The tablet however didn't sell that many units , but Nvidia hopes that the introduction of their processors in Tablets will make the chipset popular among tablet manufacturers as they are the only capable mobile CPU maker that can take on the expansion of Qualcomm . Nvidia promotes their chipsets as being  "gaming oriented" and this can be attributed to the fact that Nvidia uses its own CUDA and Kepler mobile GPU's in their mobile devices . NVIDIA promised that we'd see big upgrades to its Shield gaming system today, and it's delivering them in spades. A just-launched Android 4.3 update introduces Console Mode, which lets players steer a TV-connected Shield through a Bluetooth gamepad; NVIDIA supplies a button mapping utility that adds hardware controls to games which expect touch input. The release also takes Gamestream out of beta, providing official PC-to-Shield streaming for more than 50 titles. A few interface-level tweaks come with the new OS, including actionable notifications, restricted profiles and the option of moving app files to an SD card. The update should be rolling out now, but gamers who don't yet have a Shield now have an extra incentive to pick one up. This week the folks at NVIDIA have let it be known that they’ll be pushing the gaming industry forward with a technology called NVIDIA GameStream. At E3 earlier this year, video game accessory maker Mad Catz unveiled its new entry into the world of consoles with the M.O.J.O., and the company has just announced that you'll be able to pick up the micro-console in a few months. Similar to devices like the GameStick, M.O.J.O . is built to play Android games, but unlike the Ouya, Mad Catz' offering is compatible with titles from existing digital storefronts like the Google Play store and Amazon's Appstore. The device runs on a 1.8 Ghz Nvidia Tegra 4 chipset and it has 2 GB of RAM and has 16 GB of internal storage with a 128GB expansion slot for SDXC cards , Also included in the package are 2 full Size USB ports , a MicroHDMI out Bluetooth 4.0 and WIFI A/B/G/N + ethernet port with Android 4.2.2 running the show .Mad Catz' M.O.J.O.
